Supper/Dinner Time! What's on the menu ?

falafels, whole wheat pitas, sauted, until browned, cabbage and onion (sprinkled on some brown sugar and Colmans mustard, garlic powder, smoked paprika) and hummus inside the pitas with all the rest - very filling and tasty

I bought some Barilla Protein+ Pasta (elbows). I tried some of them with cooked fresh broccoli yesterday and a bit of canola oil drizzled on top- quite good! I couldn't really tell much, if any, difference between the flavor of these and regular durum macaroni- your mileage may vary. If I remember right, the ingredients (besides wheat flour) include chickpeas, lentils, and pea protein.

A salad : Chicory, lamb's lettuce, rocket, mushrooms, beetroot, smoked tofu with Dijon vinaigrette and yeast flakes.
Braised courgettes/peppers and onions with a drizzle of evo plus Old Bay seasoning.
Sourdough toast with Flora and cashew milk camembert style cheeze.
Blueberry vegan cream dessert.

last night was lotsa bean bean dip night - sauted onion/jalapeno/bell pepper in olive brine, added olives, salsa and a can each of mashed pinto and kidney beans and scooped up with tortilla chips - cheez shreds on top

Totally on board with this. Sounds great.
Chicory...
Oof. I still struggle with this. Last time I tried it tasted like bin juice—bitter bin juice. I'd have to upend the table.

In my defense I'd apologise and help to tidy up, but it's your fault for inviting me round really ÷)

I don't think that we're talking about the same thing. Chicory tastes delicious; either raw or braised:

I think we are: Chicory. Endive. That thing in the picture.

I haven't had it in years though. Maybe my tastes have changed. I never used to like Kale for example but I love it now.

Kidding aside - I'll give it a go to remind me.

I don't know about bin juice, but I did not like endive, my family grew and used it both raw in salads, sauteed, or in soups. Can't remember it's taste other than weirdly bitter

I just made a Beyond Burger and a wild rice blend. Love the rice! Had with some mayo and nooch and sauteed onions
