Supper/Dinner Time! What's on the menu ?

I liked the ones that I used to buy in the US; sweet potato and whole wheat flour gnocchi. However, I can only find either the classic white flour/potato ones or tomato or spinach flavoured ones over here. The latter don't really sound very appealing to me so I just buy the classic ones. I always turn up the volume and make a tasty sauce that gives them the most perfect coating.
I still have some lentil bolognese...I definitely want gnocchi now.

What do you put in your Bolognese? I'd never heard of that till being veg, and the vegan recipes are all different--and some sound terrible to me! Jamie Oliver has pumpkin, green lentils, mushrooms and celery :yuck:

I'm in a food funk again. Made tofu scramble and pancakes from an old mix. Neither came out very good

Mine is super simple...basic marinara and I just add cooked lentils. Maybe it isn't actually bolognese...I never looked up a recipe. I always thought bolognese was simply chopped meat and tomatoes.

Ditto on the food funk. I have zero ambition to cook anything and I'm getting tired of eating the same 3-4 foods/meals.

I've made this and it's really, really good--

Thanks for that...I actually prefer red lentils...not sure why I never thought to use them like this. I printed out the recipe. 😊

it was taco night last night - to a package of Gusta Mex ground we added onion, jalapeno and a can of black beans, in the tacos we had pico (green onion, olives, chopped cherry tomatoes, lime juice) cheez shreds, and finely chopped kale on top - very tasty

I made a kind of colcannon in Instant Pot, and sauteed tempeh with a liquid smoke, thyme, sage, nooch, and some brown sugar marinade to go with it.

I only had gnocchi once, and it was from Aldi. I was waiting for a couple ladies to get what I needed and one was raving about the gnocchi, so I bought it. It was horrid. Tasted and felt like soaked drywall! Now, gnocchi sounds like something I should like, but after that I've never wanted it again!

I could eat gnocchi all day every day....

Last night we had the leftover smeat from the tacos as burritos - sauted more onion/bell pepper/jalapeno to go inside and added some cheez shreds and salsa, rolled them up in whole grain wraps and ate them by hand. Delicious.

All this talk of gnocchi and I've just seen this photo posted on social media; It's a pic of a gnocchi dish at Food for Friends in Brighton. It was a pal's birthday dinner and apparently delicious.

''I had "GNOCCHI ALLA SORRENTINA (VEO) - Golden baked potato gnocchi nestled in a rich homemade slow-cooked tomato sauce, seasonal veg, crowned with bubbling mozzarella and fresh basil.''

I made gnocchi with instant potato flakes, added an herb blend, onion powder, and nooch. I didn't feel like mastering the fork thing, and they ended up sticking together anyway while the water boiled. They were good though, my son loved them, and I would make again. I sauteed them with onions and garlic in olive oil and that was very very good. Peas on the side

Next time will be with mashed pinto beans and spicy seasoning

Do you make it yourself? It certainly looks easy, and I do have instant potatoes. I would think using nooch in the dough would be good?
I may make a small batch with garlic olive oil

ummm nice thought... no, I don't make it myself - maybe someday - a package is often just $2 so it doesn't make sense for me and they keep for a long time so I usually have 3 or 4 on hand - they are currently 2.79 and there are much fancies ones for waay more money yet I prefer to flavour them myself either with pesto, spag sauce or just our usual aglio y olio type pasta prep

last night we had Indian Tasty Bites on souped up rice, a Welch Juice freezie and 2 oatmeal cookies for dessert
