Supper/Dinner Time! What's on the menu ?

I had elbow macaroni, cooked with greens and topped with chickpeas and a bit of canola oil. (I recently heard something on the radio disparaging canola oil; I'll look into it, but I doubt there's anything to worry about- it's a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, and most of the other fats in my diet are omega-6).

perogies night it was and they were delicious - while boiling the perogies I sauted garlic, onion, jalapeno, mushrooms, sliced olives (lots of spices) and then put them aside and put a bit of budder in the pan and fry the perogies with more spices, for a bit so they get crispyish and then add back the veggies to reheat - nooch on top

Today, I tried Daiya's mushroom, fig, and caramelized onion flatbread. Pretty good! The flatbread is kind of cardboard-y, but I can look past it. I would eat it again.
Daiya stuff would be great with gluten....

I made a crunch wrap with TJ's soy chorizo, Aldi tortilla, tostada, refried beans, salsa, and vegan cheddar. Came out great, but, the crunchy tostada didn't stay crunchy. I can't even think how it would stay crunchy with all the stuff in there wrapped up and heated
Good taste though, but I'd have rather made tacos

I had this for dinner and added edamame and served it with brown rice and sliced potatoes plus a dollop of coconut milk yogurt.

was it delicious?

last night we had rice in the cooker with raisins, spices, fennel seeds and then I made a stir fry for the top with brussel sprouts, giant portebello's quarted, green onions quartered and Ikea veggie balls with Korean BBQ sauce - so good

As I made my usual Madras curry sauce plus added sweet potatoes, it tasted good. However, I prefer added protein such as sliced pea protein or soya curls. I'm not a huge lover of vegetable curries.

I attended a Hawaïin theme party yesterday so dinner was a tad frugal. I had some Hawaïn rice salad plus a slice of tofu bake, a few tortilla chips/carrots and cherry tomatoes. All the other dishes were omni so I had a bite to eat when I got back home. The smell of flesh cooking and seeing others tucking into chicken thighs was disturbing.

I went out to eat with my anxiety group...there are four of us who bonded...and had sweet potato fries for dinner. It was a very popular local fish place. I wasn't in the mood for salad (again) hence the fries.

I've been eating out a lot lately as I now have three different groups of friends. It's starting to get depressing though...always having to eat salad, or just fries, or a beyond/impossible burger when I'm not particularly a fan...or dry toast and jam if it's breakfast. But I really like the company of these women so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. :sigh:

Sad to have to eat when others are eating flesh. I know how you feel, as I felt deprived yesterday, especially when there were cakes and tarts for dessert and I had nothing. So, when I got back home, I had a snack. Not ideal at 1 am!

I don't have this issue in Brighton, as I only go out with vegan friends. When I go out with my veg friend, she always eats vegan dishes. Moreover, in restaurants and cafés in the city, they virtually all have plant based options.
