Supper/Dinner Time! What's on the menu ?

I love black beans as well. They are tied for my favorite with kidney beans. For seasoning, I use a lot of chili powder, like two heaping tablespoons, some cumin, garlic, onions, a little ketchup and a dash or two of hot sauce. I know you don't like cumin, so you would leave that out. I think I use three cloves of garlic, a small onion finely chopped and a tablespoon or so of ketchup.

Love, love black beans but I wouldn't like the seasoning. I don't like chili powder, garlic and raw onions.....neither Ketchup! :fp::joy:

I think that I added yeast flakes, chickpea flour, onion powder, smoked paprika et perhaps Aldi Mrs Dash style plus some liquid smoke to mine. However, I still didn't like the end result. Perhaps I'll try again.
@shyvas Hmmmm... if you love black beans, maybe you don't need to add the usual seasonings to them at all- just cook them until they're done, maybe mash them if you want a puree/thick paste texture instead of individual beans, and put them in a sandwich, tossed salad, macaroni salad, risotto, over cooked pasta, in some sort of casserole....

That's not the same thing as a burger.

I got home too late from town, to make something decent for dinner so I had an ear of pre-cooked corn from my discounted box with Flora,
A couple of slice of ww artisan bread with Flora, avocado and Tajin.

A lemon and bramble tart.

A BOSH! pizza, the second one I've tried and it's the Pepper-noni this time.

They've got huge dry crusts, not much sauce, not keen on the cheese, not keen on the peppernoni. It's 'proper' pizza I suppose, but nope - not for me (sorry lads).

Sounds Awful to me!

Their pizzas have received some bad reviews. Such a shame as some of their products are tasty, especially their lemon drizzle cake.

I got home very late yesterday evening after having been out (to the city centre) for nearly 6 hours in sweltering (36°C) heat.

I bought a discounted box of mushrooms at Lidl's and gave a 1/3 to my pal in the downstairs flat. I made a very light meal as I had a tofu/avocado toast for breakfast.

Corn on the cob with Flora. It was pre-cooked so tasted OK but nothing special.
Sauteed mushrooms made in the IP.
A cucumber and beetroot salad with vinaigrette, yeast flakes and fresh chopped dill.
A doughnut peach
A small apple tart from Land & Monkeys which was given to me by one of the girls who work there. She stopped to say hello to
me on her way home whilst I was waiting for the pidge. I thought that was very sweet of her.

I wouldn't say 'awful', and on reflection maybe I've been a bit harsh. It's not a long way from pizza you might get in a restaurant, but with the noticeable Violifesque cheese taste that some like and some don't. I wouldn't get them again though.

I still haven't tried that pizza. Did you like it?
It's okay. As above really. I think I wanted to like them more than I did, given the brand, price and packaging. They do have an artisanal vibe that some will love. For me though, it's Dr Oetker FTW - but take that with a pinch of salt because that might make me the kind of person that would go to Naples and complain that the sauce doesn't go all the way to the edge!

Hey @Daxx
A few years back we had the Dr Oetker pizzas here in Ireland and I Loved them!
Now they are Nowhere to be found!
If they were still available I would definitely buy them for an occasional easy meal…

My husband likes the Dr Oetker pizzas. He had one the other night and added vegan ham to the top.

I'm going to have air fried peri peri tofu tonight with steamed veg with sriracha sauce. I might have ice cream or sorbet afterwards as it is so hot today!

I had tempeh that I made with a seasoning blend I made labeled "pastrami". A good example of why I like premade blends. I followed a recipe for it, but it just seems off. I think I waste money mixing my own because I have trashed some. Hard to recoup flavor by adding more to something not really good to begin with

I'm not a fan of Dr Oetker pizzas. I had one when I was in the UK and if I rightly remember they have a thin dry crust and no cheeze topping.

Aubergine, mushroom & soya curl curry made in the IP served with forbidden rice.

Chicory & beetroot salad with fresh dill, vinaigrette & yeast flakes.

Apple puree with soya cream.

I have plenty of leftovers for tonight's dinner which makes me very happy.
