I always loved the first series because I got to know the characters well, even though I often though Kirk was smug and pretentious. TNG was a real disappointment to me as was DS9 because they were almost like soaps (Coronation Street in space!!!) but I liked Enterprise and Voyager because there was a return to lively science fiction. I was a bit soft on Kes in those days too!
