I loved that DS9 was darker, it was such a change from all the other series.

DS9 had some great characters! Like Morn... which is an anagram for Norm (from Cheers) because all he did was sit at Quark's bar all day.

I can see that. Cause TOS version of a sexy man is a super gay sexy man.

I'd probably put TNG or DS9 at the top, followed by Voyager, then STE, and finally TOS at the bottom.

Don't watch TOS. It's incredibly dated and cheesy. Good series at the time for SF, but SF marched on.

(Hey, if you want your Shatner fix, just rent Boston Legal. Far better.)

Liked Next Generation and some of the movies. Never got into any of the others. Red Dwarf trumps them all in the space exploration genre though

Red Dwarf is in its own category. It's great, it just has a different objective than Star Trek.

I watched the original series as it aired the first time as a kid. It was the highlight of our week. Nothing else will ever compare.

Just found this rather dated thread, because I wanted to share this:



That also closely matches my own perception - to me, TNG has always been my favourite Star Trek series, likely, as it was popular when I was growing up as a kid.

Picard, Data, Counelor Troi, Riker and Jordi La Forge are awesome, although I also really enjoyed watching Voyager later.

Have not seen the new series yet, need to remedy that at some point in time.
