I posted a similar article a few years ago (I think
) on this thread. I find that all of this extravagant present buying, especially for children is ridiculous.
Too many unnecessary toys and gift. Too much food and booze.So,does that entail that by not having received expensive and multiple presents people didn't enjoy christmas ?
I like to keep things simple. I like the buzz and decorations plus a nice simple meal including a few sweet treats.
I also bear in mind that for many this period of the year is depressing because it may trigger sad memories. I've already had to chear
up a good friend because she fears that she may spend christmas alone.

I very often make sweet potato and cauliflower mash. I use it as a topping for cottage pie.
I know that you make it in a different manner for TG but at least they won't go to waste.
Mmm, my mom makes a sweet potato casserole with pecans and brown sugar. And she uses Earth Balance so I can eat it.
I never like the marshmallows with sweet potatoes. Too much sugar for me, haha. Now, caramelized pecans? Oh, yeaaaahhh! They would go nicely with the casserole. Now I want sweet potatoes!

Maybe I’ll skip the marshmallows this time and just go with the pecans.
I hate that nuts and seeds are so expensive! I want to do a nut roast as well. Trader Joe’s has the best prices but I waited too long and it’s going to be so crowded.
