TV & Film American Horror Story

I liked season one better, but think the name game song and dance number was my favorite part of any of the episodes.

I loved the finale. I was nearly crying at a certain point, very poignant.:) I hope the next series is as good.

Season 3's name and setting as been announced.
American Horror Story: Coven
Set in New Orleans.

You can stop guessing, "American Horror Story" fans! Season 3 details you've been waiting for have finally been revealed.
The new season will be titled "American Horror Story: Coven," series' co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed at the show's PaleyFest Panel on Friday, which also included Oscar-winner Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Naomi Grossman, and executive producers Brad Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto and Tim Minear.
It had already been announced that Bates and "American Horror Story" alumni Taissa Farmiga, Paulson, Lange, Peters, Rabe and Conroy would be a part of the third season.
"It's a really cool story that we've been talking about for a couple of years, and this seemed like the year to do it," Murphy said on the panel. As well as confirming the previously reported news that the season would partially shoot in New Orleans, Murphy promised that the third year would feature "a lot of really cool real locations," and be less of a "sound-stagey show" this year, since the writers have been researching the most haunted locations in America...

And some details about the new story....
Ryan Murphy revealed the set up for the next installment of American Horror Story during a Friday night event for Emmy voters. (Full disclosure: This reporter moderated the panel with cast and producers.) Coven will be a massive witch-off: Salem vs. voodoo. "The witches of Salem, the smart ones, got out very early and they were none of the ones who were burned," Murphy explained. "They all gravitated toward New Orleans, where they now live, and every generation has a great witch who has the most powers of them all, and that's called the Supreme. Ms. Jessica Lange is the Supreme."
"It really is about the witches of Salem pitted against voodoo witches," he continued. "It's been a centuries-long feud and it's up to Jessica Lange and Angela Bassett to mend the fence." (Bassett is playing Marie Laveau, "the voodoo queen of New Orleans" whose real-life reign lasted from the 1820s to the 1860s.) Obviously, expect things between the witches — and non-witches — to escalate quickly. "The witches are really sort of a great allegory and metaphor for any minority group that has been persecuted and has had to go underground and, finally, is like, 'You know what? Dammit, no. We're fighting back,' so that's what they do."...

I was looking forward to it until I read spoilers. I read them even though I haven't had the chance to see the first episode. Now I'm grateful that I didn't see it.
I don't think I could deal with the multiple rape scenes.
I know Ryan Murphy is all about pushing the limits and being as controversial as possible, but goddamn! His goals are to make you feel uncomfortable and uneasy while watching his shows and well..mission accomplished Mr. Murphy. His plan works a little too well. For me anyways. I will continue to read spoilers and maybe I'll tune in if it lightens up a bit.

That made it gratifying to see someone get what they deserve.

So far, I like it. There were a few, somewhat humorous, moments.

It wasn't that graphic if you do watch it, I had to cover up my eyes at the more violent bits, but I always do that anyway.

The Jessica Lange character had a few funny lines.

So far, so good.
First episode a bunch of rapists get killed. Second episode a couple of hunters get killed. The hunter killings looked a little cheesy, but it's the thought that counts. :D
