Finished "The Never Game" by Jeffrey Deaver. This is book one in the Colter Shaw series. Since I read book three first, I already knew the conclusion of one of the mysteries started in this book. That didn't make this less enjoyable though as there was another crime to solve which was about a video game that turned into real life murder. Good read! I have book two to read now.

Today I read a book I bought at Cliff's Books some time ago. I have a few on hand for when I have read all my library books and don't feel like going there. This one is "The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell" by Lillian Jackson Braun. This is one of a series of "The Cat Who....." of which there are many. This one was published in 2006. These books I would call "cozy mysteries" as they are a fast easy read and fun. This series features a small town filled with quirky characters and cats. There is always a murder which is solved with the help of our hero, a journalist, and his cats. Good fun!
I looked the author up and she passed away in 2011. There are 29 books in this series.

I'm going to start reading one of my books today. One Dark, Two Light - Ruth Mancini.

New Year's Eve, London. Outside the Hope & Glory pub, a man has been left to die. A victim of extraordinary violence, he will never walk or speak again. He remains in hospital, nameless, until criminal defence lawyer Sarah Kellerman walks onto his ward. Sarah barely recognises the man she once worked with - he was honourable and kind - what was he involved in? Who wanted him dead? But in her race to uncover the truth, Sarah comes to realise there are two men in her life that she never really knew at all.

The Three Lives of Cate Kay by Kate Fagan - read this yesterday and absolutely loved it - didn't want it to end. Thought it was recommended by someone here yet can't find any reference. I have a couple more of hers on hold at the IRL library as there are no more on Libby.

Also read another short Colter Shaw and have started one of Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series.

Today I read "2 Sisters Murder Investigations" by James Patterson and Candice Fox. This is a new book and there is another one that precedes this one so I have read a series out of order yet again! It was a really good mystery about two sisters who have a PI business. The perspective jumped back and forth between third person and first person which is the older sister. They are over 20 years apart in age and share the same father who had the agency before them. I liked the characters and will get the first book and watch for more. Good fast read!

I did not like this book and only read the first few chapters - way too detailed and 'all over the place' - I will still try any of the Colter Shaw that come in but no more Lincoln Rhymes - which reminds me, I can't watch Tracker as we do not have Prime but it reminds of a show from the early 2010's - The Finder.

Currently reading the first of Ellery Adams series - The Secret, Book and Scone Society - interesting to read a first in a series when you already know what happens later...

Yesterday I read "Hounding a Killer" by Kallie E. Benjamin. This is a cute cozy mystery that features a children's book author and her bloodhound detective. A quick fun read and I will read the others in this series.

Today I read "Circle of Death" by James Patterson and Brian Sitts. Again I am reading a series out of order as this is book two. I have reserved book one and book three came out this year but the library doesn't have it. This is not typical Patterson as this is super hero science fiction and a lot of fun to read. It is about The Shadow, a 1930's radio super hero who was "asleep" for 150 years and is back in 2088. He and his band of heroes including his wife must save the world from evil. Fast read!

I did another search on the library and I did find book three in the Shadow series so I have it reserved too. I also got on the list for the new Patterson, Clinton book, "The First Gentleman". I am number 78!

I read another Nora Roberts, "Legacy". I liked this one a lot. It has the predictable romance plus lots of family drama. There is also a stalker/serial killer. Good read and I read it fast.

strangely enough I can only get the audio version - none of my libraries have it as an ebook - very weird

You Shouldn't have come here. I took a reading break due to being super busy and tired.
That read like a quirky summer, lifetime romance the first half. It was just the last bit that was thriller.
