I just finished "The Texas Murders" by James Patterson and Andrew Bourelle. This is the third in a series so yet again I will be reading them out of order. The series features a Texas Ranger who is a quick draw competitor. This book centers around the disappearance of Native American women. It was good and a quick read. There was a little romance and lots of violence and a twist I didn't see coming.

Read another Colleen Hoover "Confess" yesterday and it gave me a range of emotions, which is always a winner in my book...lol..., it started off intense and then was a lot of fun, and then very intense again.

Asked google for more authors like Evie Woods and it came up with At the Coffee Shop of Curiosities by Heather Weber so I am just about to start that.

I loved this book and am looking forward to reading others by this author - they are magical, literally, and so full of love and joy...

Currently reading CJ Archer The Librarian of Crooked Lane which is also magical with some intrigue mixed in.

Just finished "The Search" by Nora Roberts published in 2010. I don't remember is I ever read a Nora Roberts book before but my sister is a fan and Ms. Roberts has written tons of books. I think I have read a few by her "alter-ego" J.D. Robb. I was just browsing through the shelves so thought I would look at her books. I picked this one because it is about a dog trainer and search and rescue in the wilderness. It was really good. A lot about dog training, some steamy love scenes, and a nasty serial killer.

I think I have read everything she has ever written both as herself and as J.D. Robb, especially the Eve and Roarke series - I will look for that one - it has been years (since Covid) that I have kept on eye on her new ones as I rarely go to the actualy library anymore.

I finished the Medici Manuscript and now have to wait until the next in the series arrives. Reading some fluff in the meanwhile.

I have downloaded an audio book, by Heather Webber, and am going to try really hard to get off the couch and onto my rebounder and listen while I bounce.

Today I read "The #1 Lawyer" by James Patterson and Nancy Allen. It was another winner but Patterson seldom disappoints. Murder. courtroom drama, a little romance, and several twists make this a good read.

I read another Colleen Hoover that arrived in my inbox and for anyone who likes noir you would enjoy this one "Verity" - very different for her and definitely not my favourite of hers.

Today I read "Bloodless" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child who have teamed up many times. This is part of the Pendergast series but I don't remember if I have read any others but I will look for them. Agent Pendergast of the FBI is an intriguing character. This is a sci-fi/horror thriller with lots of action and I couldn't put it down. There's the paranormal, parallel universes, and a monster and very unique main characters. Really good!

After looking up the Pendergast series, I discovered that "Relic" which I read many years ago and was a movie was the first in the series. I wish I remembered it!

I read "A Campus on Fire" by Patrick O'Dowd. This is his first novel. It is a disturbing, very contemporary story of a small liberal university in turmoil. Tess is a journalist for the campus newspaper and she is researching two stories. One is the suicide of a promising writer which draws her into a cult like writer's workshop. The other is the rise of a neo-Nazi group on campus. The story mirrors what is going on in the USA today. I couldn't put it down.

Today I read a book I had purchased at Cliff's Books some time ago. It is an older book, published in 2006. "Sour Puss" by Rita Mae Brown & Sneaky Pie Brown (her cat). :) This is one of a series of books featuring Mrs. Murphy, a cat, and her animal (and human) friends. The animals are personified and talk among themselves and help solve crimes, murders in this case. It was a very fun read and I will look for more in the series. There is a lot of information on vineyards and organic chemistry and horses as Mrs. Murphy's "mom's" husband is an equine vet.
