TV & Film The TV Room

I started watching a show I kept seeing advertised called All Her Fault. It is about a mother who has a son that goes missing. It started off well, but it has trailed off a bit so I'm not sure if I will bother finishing it.

I started watching "Presumed Innocent" which is based on an old Scott Turow book (1987). A movie was made in 1990 starring Harrison Ford. This TV version stars Jake Gyllenhaal. I know I read the book ages ago and saw the movie but I don't remember it. It's really dramatic about a DA accused of murdering his mistress.

A great film.

I've just finished watching Netflix's After Life starring the gorgeous Antilly. Sadly she passed away recently, and it was difficult to watch her this time around.

It's amazing how highly intelligent some of these actor dogs are. Moreover, they really seem to enjoy being part of a film or programme.

RIP, Sweet Antilly. You were really a good girl.

I finished "Presumed Innocent" and I am glad I had not remembered the previous movie or the book because that would have spoiled the total surprise at the end. I thought it was excellent!
Season two will be based on the book Dissection of a Murder by Jo Murray. I have not read that book.

Just finished season one of "Dark Matter." Wow what a strange and creepy show! I don't remember the book so that's a good thing. Season two will be out sometime next year. The author is a producer and heavily involved so that is a good thing for keeping it true to the book.

I’ve just finished watching a program that I recorded last night…
It’s a series on CNN called “The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper” this episode was called Justice Defenders: Change Inside Prison.
It was So inspiring! Many of the stories in the series are about positive things happening in the world or investigative reporting about subjects that are important…
I Highly recommend it!

I’m watching the Christmas The King of Queens episodes. I’m on the one when they decide to invest their money with negative results.🤣

I just watched episode one of "Chief of War" which is a fictionalized historical series about Hawaii. It is really interesting as the actors are natives and the dialog is in Hawaiian with subtitles. It takes place in the 18th century when the islands were separate countries at war with each other. It is historically accurate but of course has added drama for TV. It stars Jason Momoa who is nearly naked most of the time. LOL Evidently back then the men wore thong breech cloths and very little else. It is violent with some disturbing war scenes. I am going to keep watching it.

Finished season one of "Chief of War". I really hope there is a season two though it has not been announced yet. The finale was the anticipated war and it was brutal with some scenes so disturbing I couldn't watch. There is a lot more to the story of the "birth" of Hawaii. One thing about the culture that was surprising was that the women played a large part. Though it is a society of kings and chiefs, the men listen to their wives counsel and there are women warriors. Really good show!

I watched the first two episodes of Shoresy (season 5). It's as funny as ever. I laugh out loud while watching, and I just love all the hockey references. The second episode featured an appearance by Wayne Gretzky!

The second episode featured an appearance by Wayne Gretzky!

He used to be our hero, up here in Canada-land, until he started to pal around with "you know who" and he has become not so beloved anymore - when he was playing junior hocky we went to the same high school as we are very close in age.

We started watching Ripple last night and we are halfway through. It is interesting and enjoyable.
