Health Issues Sleep problems

I need something on when I go to bed at night...if not the tv with the timer set to go off after an hour, I will listen to an audiobook... usually something I have listened to before so that I'm not too into it where it would keep me awake…or I play soft music or soundscapes.

did you try the Nothing Much Happens stories yet?

congrats on a great night sleep 96% seems like an amazing number

I just sampled a few to see what they are all about...I think I will like them. They are bookmarked and ready to go!

I had the stories running all night and was doing pretty good until I woke up at 3 am to use the bathroom...and suddenly she was on the Thanksgiving episode and talking about which pie to have for breakfast. 😳 And now I'm hungry and craving pie. 😂

I woke at 3 am today. I got 6 hours but I'm going to be tired. I already have a foggy headache but the headache usually subsides once I get up. The fogginess usually lingers.

I don't care too much if I have nothing to do because I'm fine with napping. And I usually sleep better for some reason if I've had a nap that day. I've been really busy this summer with senior activities and I think I mentioned that I joined the senior production of the music man so rehearsals are keeping me busy. So I haven't had many days where I could take a nap.
I remembered that you're going to be in a production of "The Music Man". How are the rehearsals going?

They are going lol. I don't see how we're going to pull it off but if nothing else, it will be funny. 😁
The Music Man seems like a real challenge! I only remember that one song. You guys can sing that well?

I only get like 6-6.5 hours on a usual work night, which is 6 days. This week I've been going in later so get an extra hour, but I'm more tired

😁... actually there are enough good singers to drown out the bad in the ensemble numbers. Yesterday we actually sounded good with harmonies and everything.

Interestingly enough, when you watch the movie with Robert Preston and Shirley Jones, there are so many characters who don't have "good" voices. Not sure if it's done intentionally or not. It is a comedy in many aspects. But I was surprised. Our Marion has a very good voice. The issue for me is, I do not enjoy listening to soprano, especially when it's almost operatic, even though I can appreciate that they have a good voice.

Up at 3 again. Looks like I'm really stuck in this pattern. I did hold up pretty well yesterday considering I left my house at 9:30 and didn't get home until 3:30.

I started out visiting my daughter and the pups for an hour. Then I attended a drawing 101 class from 11-12:30 (that's a discussion for another thread lol 😂). Then straight to rehearsal until 3:15.

I don't know about that. I've never been a professional musician, but I love almost every kind of music you can imagine... and even a few pieces from kinds/styles of music I don't normally care for. I taught myself a little guitar, took classical piano lessons, and sung baritone in my college's chorus (which performed a wide variety of music). (I really need to limber up my fingers and start playing again...)

Maybe you're not so likely to hit a wrong note when you sing as you would be playing an instrument (at least, that's been my experience). But physically, you're putting more of yourself into it. We baritones might not get the respect that basses (with their avalanche-causing low notes) and tenors (like my Mom's favorite, Placido Domingo) get, but we have fun anyway. I think your audience will be glad they came.
