I have been watching the youtube channel of Large Man Abroad and he has an incredible way of putting things into perspective. He has lived outside the USA and so brings that knowledge of the wide wide world into the conversation.

My only issue with Ben Meiselas is he comes across a little snide (IMO) even if I like his message.
Adam is way too young yet, but has an air of genuine kindness about him without being a pushover.

I was thinking about this today when I heard a report about yet another effort by the narcissist to destroy whatever he can, this time, erecting the stupid 250-foot arch near Arlington National Cemetery. There is so much to undo.

Today I heard that the rump administration is trying to take away 1.2 Million acres of land from the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah! That is roughly 91% of the Monument!This would open up the land to the possibility of drilling and mining!
The Patagonia company is suing the administration to stop the reduction of the Monument…
This makes me wonder How many Other disastrous plans for the Environment they are planning or are Already in the works!?!
Some of the Damage he and his cronies have done will be able to be undone, however, messing with the Environment and destroying Nature won’t be repairable…
Hearing about this makes me Sick and really Concerned.

The Republicans have been running ads here for a while now and I have seen very few Democrat ads. I am sick of the ads already! There is a bit of hope in Florida though as some Dems are polling pretty well.

On CNN a few of the news stories have shown the ad by Maria Salazar in Florida - she makes a Great case against the rump administration, regarding how they have handled the immigration issue, she even mentioned not giving them amnesty, but providing them a dignified life in the USA! Wow!!
If I was living there I could Almost be convinced to vote for her!!! Here’s hoping that the Dems have Strong ads against her!

Gas prices have held steady and maybe that's all the People see.
But our economy runs on diesel. High diesel prices means more inflation. higher prices on food. Could that hurt the republicans. Trump basically won last time on inflation.

However, for me when I think of AI it makes me think of HAL the computer in 2001 A Space Odyssey - which I saw in the early 70’s … I was only in my late teens way back then and it Scared me… Even now I can still hear HAL’s voice and it makes me Shudder!

Five Years is not a song that I knew so I Googled the lyrics
Do they - meaning Meta think that by saying that they are Optimistic - think that humans having 5 years left is being optimistic?
Why did they Choose that particular song?
Huh? Interesting attitude!

And up until recently my Biggest fear for the Planet was the Climate Crisis!
Which seemed like it might take a bit longer than 5 years to end Humanity!!
Although, I think that rump could start World War lll and finish things off even More quickly!!!

Yes! HAL was a very scary AI. There is another movie released in 1970 called Collossus: the Forbin Project which is terrifying.
