Bad Vegan: Fame/Fraud/Fugitives (documentary)

I would normally just post in the 'The TV Room' thread, but I thought I would give this documentary a bit more visibility.

I've been watching this 4-part documentary on Netflix with my family over the past few evenings, and I think it's fascinating stuff. It's about a vegan restaurateur, Sarma Melngailis, who starts a raw vegan restaurant in NY city called Pure Food and Wine, as well as a side-business called One Lucky Duck, both of which become extremely successful. However, Sarma gets involved with a shadowy figure who calls himself Shane Fox, and things go downhill from there.

I won't say more about the story, but you you can obviously guess from the title, and there is also a Wikipedia article etc.

It's been on Netflix since 2022:

Has anyone else watched this? (We haven't watched the final episode yet, so please use spoiler tags if you want to talk details!)

I've seen this documentary when it first was screened. However, I don't remember much about the woman, except for that she had a dodgy partner.

Yes, I tend to forget details about shows I watch as well.

All the people interviewed who worked at the restaurant seemed very genuine and nice.
That includes Sarma herself to some extent, although a few episodes in you start to realise she made some terrible decisions and allowed herself to be manipulated by this master conman. It also reminds me very much of the sunk cost fallacy.
