Literature What are you currently reading?

I am not sure as I have read many of hers over the the years - I think the Glass Library series follows the Glass & Steele. I may go back and read the Glass & Steele again now that I know some of the characters, wow, so many in the series.

I did read them all and also listened to the audio books. I love the narrator's voice. So soothing. I sometimes use them as bed time stories.

Just got a new one called the Warrior Priest set in the After Rift Universe. I liked that series but didn't love 'em as much as I loved Glass and Steele.

My brother recommended the Murderbot books to me some time ago but I haven't gotten around to reading them. Thanks for the reminder! Should I watch the TV show or read the books first?
Not sure. The TV show adaption seems very close the books. I would guess that if you watched the show you don't need to read the first book. but there are like 8 books and the TV show is just the first one. I haven't finished the tv show but I'm more than halfway thru it and it seems to be exactly like the first novel.

How to sell a haunted house was good and creepy with the puppets.

My next read, Postmortem.
I did it to myself again, too many books from the library. I have 2 unread and 2 to pick up tomorrow. It will not be as fast as I actually have to work at work

Today I read "Annie Bot" by Sierra Greer. In the future world of AI robots, Annie is a Cuddle Bunny version of bots that can be purchased. Not hard to figure out what her purpose is. There are also housekeeper bots and nanny bots and other types of workers. These robots look human and some advanced models, as Annie is, are sentient and able to learn and advance in their intelligence. This short book is essentially a very strange love story with lots of sex as that is Annie's main job. It's a pretty good book and a quick read.

Just finished Onyx Storm, book 3 in the THE EMPYREAN series.
I sort of liked this one but half the reason I was reading it was because I thought it was the last in the series. I got to the end and I found out that there will be a book 4.

More violence, death, brutality than I like. Also the sex scenes are too long and too detailed. But a very exciting battle at the end of the book.

Two and a half stars.

I have read those books and I just looked up the series. There will be 2 more to finish the series but the author says she is in no hurry to write number 4 so I guess we are in for a long wait. She wants to write something different and spend time with her family. I like the series because .... dragons!

I'm under the impression that book 4 Should be the final book. She is under contract to finish another book and then she will get back to writing book 4. I May have to read it just to see what happens to the characters but if it takes too long I probably will stop caring.

I don't like waiting a long time for a book either. I tend to forget the previous ones in the series if it is a long wait. I don't even remember that much about the last one already! I read too many books!

I'm the same. if it's a good book I don't mind re-reading it again to remind me of who's who. or sometimes I will read it and not worry so much about the details.
Sometimes I wait till all the books are out before I start on a series. probably should have done that with this.

I sometimes end up reading a series out of order. I grab books randomly and then discover they are part of a series. LOL

I just looked up the Murderbot books on Amazon to get the order so I could reserve them at the library. There is book 8 coming out in May of next year.

I finished all of the novels, novellas, and even the short story. There is one really short one - like 5 pages that I can't find. I read them one after another and even read them all in order.

I think I'm going to look up the authors other novels now.

I picked up Stephen King's new book called "Never Flinch". I didn't realize there is a series about this character, Holly Gibney, and since I liked this book, I will find more. It was a good thriller with not one but two psychos.

Holly stars with Mr Mercedes trilogy (I watched the show and did not read the books), then The Outsider, then a short in you like it darker and the Holly book before that the new one. I love Holly.

I have placed a Hold on it at my library - thank you for the heads up.

First Murderbot book finished! I have 3 more to pick up at the library tomorrow. I really enjoyed it and I will watch the TV show too.
I went to the library today and got a lot of books that Martha Wells wrote.

Right now I'm reading Dust by Philip Pullman. I read it before but I just learned that the third book in that trilogy came out. And since I can hardly remember that Dust was about - I'm reading it again.
