finished Annie Bot - so interesting - despite it being about robots I was still feeling her angst and one of the things that stood out to me was the obvious misogy - the male in the story does not come off looking good for so many reasons - I did feel also that it ended rather abruptly and although somewhat satisfying it was a letdown at the same time - I don't think I will read more by this author

I read a new book called "Atmosphere" by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This is a new book that came up on a few of my recommended lists.
It is the story of Joan who is one of the first women astronauts in the Space Shuttle program in the early 1980's. It is also the story of her journey to "find herself". And it is a very touching love story about two women who find each other. Of course this love is forbidden and must be hidden in the era of "moral majority" and AIDS. It's a really good book!

I just finished another older (2009) Nora Roberts book called "Black Hills." It's about a woman who follows a life long dream of having an animal sanctuary on her property in the Black Hills of South Dakota where she grew up. She is an expert on cougars and has studied them all over the world and is famous for her research. There is a lot of romance in this one and family is a big theme. There is also a serial killer. Good read!

thank you again for another great recommendation - I am about 2/3rds through and enjoying it immensely!

Just finished "The Grey Wolf" by Louise Penny. This is an Inspector Gamache thriller about domestic terrorist targeting the water supply in Montreal. I really like this series and this one does not disappoint. It ends on a cliffhanger and I am now going to see if a new one is out yet. This one was published last year so maybe not. Good read!
Looked at library online and reserved the next book which is called "The Black Wolf."

The Black Wolf arrived yesterday as a physical book, I would have to wait months for the digital version so I will start on it soon.

Finished Black Hills and loved it, especially the animals and the animal sanctuary.

Just finished "Revenant X" by David Wellington. This is book two in the Red Space Trilogy. I actually checked out book one as well as I didn't remember the title (Paradise-1) but realized I had read it after I started it. This is a really good sci-fi/horror series and now I wait for book three. It's violent and scary with a terrifying alien. Just looked it up and book three will be out in July.

I finally finished Star-Spangled Jesus by April Ajoy - for anyone wondering why the United States is in the mess it is in I highly recommend reading it - April grew up in the Christian Nationalist movement, before it was called that - I grew up in an evangelical family so I can somewhat relate although April was way further down the rabbit hole - one of the most important quotes from the conclusion at the end of the book is that "Christ needs to be put back into Christianity" as opposed to in the schools and in the government. WWJD (what would Jesus do) no longer seems to be on their agenda and that is the saddest part of all.

Now I am going to read The Black Wolf.

The Linwood Barclay book was really good and I didn't guess the twists. A Noise Downstairs.

I have just reserved two more of his books at the library. I will Ruin You and Whistle. There is another two I reserved but I think I might have read them before.

Yesterday I read "The First Gentleman" by James Patterson and Bill Clinton. This is the third book they have written together and it was really good. Political corruption, conspiracy and murder. It was a fast read even though it was 466 pages.

I needed something lighter so I picked up "A Little Christmas Spirit" by Sheila Roberts. It is a sweet Christmas story about a young single mother and her grumpy older widower neighbor. I really liked it and will read more of her books. Two of her books have been made into movies for Lifetime and the Hallmark channel.

Just read another older (2007) Nora Roberts book called "High Noon." It is about a hostage negotiator in Savannah, GA. I am familiar with Savannah and enjoy reading books about places I know. It is a typical Roberts romance/crime drama with a scary stalker. The tech is a little dated but still a really good book.

Yesterday I read "Gone Before Goodbye" by Harlan Coben and Reese Witherspoon. It's a new book and really good and very twisty as Coben loves to make you crazy. LOL It's more like Robin Cook than the usual Coben because it deals with medical issues. Sucked me in and I had to read the whole book at one sitting.

Thank you for the recommendation - I am about a quarter way through this and had to stop and read something else for a bit as I am finding it very stressful....
