TV & Film The TV Room

He used to be our hero, up here in Canada-land, until he started to pal around with "you know who" and he has become not so beloved anymore - when he was playing junior hocky we went to the same high school as we are very close in age.

We started watching Ripple last night and we are halfway through. It is interesting and enjoyable.

Uuuugh, I wasn't aware he was pals with that one. <sigh>

I stopped watching Emily In Paris last season. And of course I hadn't started watching the new season. The show became a little too soapy for my taste. Although all the things that attracted me to the show in the first place were still there: Pretty people, great costumes, sets, costumes, and locations.
But I've just changed my mind. And I do need a new TV show to watch at lunch time.

What changed is I just got this article in my inbox.

I'm going to catch up with Emily and check out the new season

I'm going to finish of It: Welcome to Derry later as I only have about half an episode left and will watch the last Stranger Things when it comes out.

Watched the final episode of the final season of Stranger Things last night with 34 million of my closest friends.

This was the best episode of the best season.

I do want to write a review but I will post it in the DM sections. If you want to chat about it send me a DM.

I watched the first two episodes but I need to buckle down and watch it all. I lost interest in the last two seasons so it's been hard getting into it, but I felt the first two episodes were pretty good...I want to see how it ends.

I was really crying at Stranger Things last night! I don't understand why this series has had so much criticism. I thought it was one of the best.

I read some reviews. no one really criticized the last couple of episodes. and not much of this last season.

I liked every season and this last one was the best.

It might be different in the UK. Lots of people were slagging it off on FB and saying they wasted their time watching it for so long.

I was in a rush earlier so these are the bad reviews of the Stranger Things finale I saw.

I still liked it a lot. Personally, I thought the second series was the worst.

Off topic: I am staying in a town called Derry. 😁

My sister watches this show, and she has been loving it.

So funny...my son just came upstairs and said the finale was awful lol. He didn't like how it ended!

Now I definitely have to watch this season just to see what all the hype is about...good and bad lol.

Interesting how different people have such opposite reactions.

After seeing the negative reviews I asked the people in my Whatsapp book group as most of them are much younger than me (20s and 30s) and most of them don’t even watch Stranger Things.🧐

I'll have to ask my 14 year old granddaughter what she thought of it… I'm not sure if she's done yet.

I wonder if there is some demographics at work here.

the kids in Stranger things were mostly born in the 70s. Perhaps the appeal is stronger with generation X and the millennials. However I'm a Boomer and I loved it. Perhaps you just needed to be alive in the 80s.

There also might be a split between speculative fiction fans and the rest of the population.

My thought is that those who don't like Stranger Things in general or the last season in particular just "don't get it".

I should text my friend to see what they thought as her 16-17 year old daughter is obsessed with ST.

I really liked IT: Welcome to Derry, It took a few episodes to like it, but it really grew on me. That was set in the 1960s so I wasn't born yet.

I'm texting my sister, 63, to see what she thought. :D I'll post it here when I hear from her, lol!

ETA: My sister dubbed it a solid finale. :D It left her with some questions, but she was like, that's per usual with finales.
