I didn't realise they had to change those type of things, I thought they only decided to alter the racist stuff. I used to love Enid Blyton's books as a child.

Yeah I know they removed references to golliwogs and other such things, but I think that was mainly in the Noddy books? I liked the school series and I don't remember any racist terms in them, but part of the magic for me was reading about the girls spending shillings and old pence and having old fashioned foods. When I got the 'updated' Naughtiest Girl books the girls got £2 a week instead of 2 shillings. I couldn't read them anymore, completely spoiled.

We make jokes about resting in the restroom all the time. I like washroom, though I don't use it (Canadians do, right Canadians?) It's fairly descriptive without being too blunt. Toilets seems pretty blunt, though it certainly does get the point across.

I used to say that I needed to use the facilities.

Yes that's true. Or just saying what you are going to do, like some people do. I might tell my hubby under certain circumstances that I have to pee, but nobody else needs that announcement.

I usually ask where the restrooms are, I occasionally say bathroom. Potty is usually what I hear kids say; "I have to go potty".

Yes, it definitely depends on the company. My mom never liked us to say, "I've got to go to the toilet" when we were kids. It was always "bathroom." She thought "toilet" sounded crude .
