US New items at Trader Joe's

There can be those so poor, whether not fit to be at any work, or only getting low paying jobs, and ends cannot be met if they are going to pay for food, there is not enough income. And you may notice any food is more expensive than just a few years ago. They cannot go to Trader Joe's. So such without food choices cannot be vegan if they want to be. Food banks that help with food for those in need are not supplied generally to accommodate any who would want the vegan choices. People do need their own choices, and there should be food help that is at least mostly plant based.

I went specifically for more tempeh, harissa, and their pastas-the .99 cents a lb of orzo, butterfly, and the large size elbow. I was disappointed they were out of harissa. I've never had it, but need to try it.
So happy they had samples of the rosemary mixed nuts! I bought them before, but felt too cheap today. I remember the price was like 5.99, now they're 7.99! Now I have to check if I bought the sliced almonds I had in the cart...

I have tried tempeh. I liked using seitan more, and I continued with that. Now I am actually generally using jackfruit, now that I know where I will get it, and it would still be there. I wonder about getting enough variety, still. I do have a sandwich and a bean burrito each day generally, and they are basically the same. For cooked meals I alternate between potato, quinoa, and whole grain noodle. Is this enough variety, one cooked meal each day? I use vegetables cut up in them still, with the hummus, medium salsa, and seasonings.

I did make enough to get more variety yesterday, more than I previously have made in a meal. My cooked meal then had lasagna noodles in it, cut up potato, cut up delicata squash, lentils, bits of broccoli, cut up celery, shredded jackfruit, olives, cabbage, guacamole, hummus, Follow Your Heart dairy free cheese, medium salsa, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, ginger, turmeric, cumin, parsley, and Italian seasoning. I will still try including some more variety than I generally used before, this still was tops.img-bd60952e.jpeg

I will certainly be thinking of making a special meal for Christmas. Maybe others already have ideas while I haven't had one yet. It should be as good as that one I made last week.

Has anyone noticed a taste change in the Soy Chorizo? I've always loved the stuff, and felt it was exactly how I liked taco meat. The last couple times I've used it I thought it a bit different, and just now added it to a pot of chili and definitely think it's different. Like I notice the cumin more and not the 'brightness' I used to love. I would always save a bit to just have with rice but didn't even want any plain.

I haven't tried it... But I should say I have been trying seitan chorizo, and it works for me, better than other seitan items I have put to some use. But I did find jackfruit items I like as much.

I got field roast sausages. They worked in a meal, and I wanted to make meals a bit different to be special. I would not get them still, otherwise, but the meals I made with them, including on Christmas, were still good that way. But they are processed stuff and I generally want to avoid such. Seitan and jackfruit would be meaty while they are whole foods still. Even then I use those sometimes but not every time. The meals are tasty enough anyway. How I make sauce for them is really important to that.

I decided to show pictures and it would be right with this wonderful meal I made, which I would keep doing still, and this time a few of the steps are shown, but not all of it exhaustively. I made this with quinoa, green lentils, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, cashews, almonds, butternut squash and squash seeds, a little broccoli, celery, cabbage, guacamole, jackfruit, medium salsa and hummus, and various seasonings, a bit of dried seaweed, and triscuit woven crackers were added.

Finally, after I ate a little and was able to stir and mix it, more from the distinct layers were seen.

There is reason I find to put a lot into a meal regularly now. I made one like that shown just now too. It is with having learned there should be so much variety of food from plants for our health, up to thirty different ones each week for the best health benefits. With more it levels off, but getting to about thirty is desirable for the benefits with it. It is already a healthy way with just using whole foods from plants. I knew before variety is important with that, but I would not have guessed I should bring up the variety to about thirty... for each week. It is a lot for me and yet I try to come closer to it. I eat just by myself with what I make and carry back groceries for it a good long way, that has kept it with less variety, I also have to plan for things not spoiling on me. At this time in my life I am making one cooked meal each day.

Being natural yet more is generally better even for our health. Some might say eating meat is natural for us, I have heard such talk, but our physiology says something else. We do not have claws and teeth for it, we would not just catch animals and eat them. Cooking is not as natural. Veganism is the only right choice. There is the healthiest way possible with being vegan, with enough whole foods. Any animal agriculture and industry using the animals involve suffering of animals and the slaughter of them. We should not think there is more reason to not be vegan. The best we can do is learn from our mistakes and make our choices besides what is routine more carefully with our observation, and there can be commitment as I make that anyone who I eat with, which is now very rare for me, will know I am vegan and what that means, that I would not knowingly eat anything with animal products.

I don't think I like eating anything anymore as much as the food I make doing that myself. It may not look like much but it has more that I put into it than it would look like.IMG_20260122_085425626_AE.jpgIMG_20260122_090043364_AE.jpgIMG_20260123_150319353.jpg

I share the healthy ways I found to eat with anyone who will listen even a little bit. And I explain it is not hard to give things up, animal products or the processed things added for food, with being sure to have really tasty meals that you learn to make. Now I would prefer my food to whatever would I would find in a restaurant. But why won't many make changes in that direction? Regardless of how many people will or will not be vegan, I saw the reasons and my mind was made up. I will keep on choosing the vegan way, and I have a healthy and tasty way I choose with it. I am not ever changing away from that, while I will still change things with what I learn. I appreciate any others who are caring for animals to not just use them. It is an important part of the sustainable way I see people can go on in this world besides having the high ethical position that would be involved.
