First day of school in Detroit is hot with only bottled water to drink
Half of Detroit’s 108 school buildings don’t have air conditioning.

At the same time, the first day of school for 50,000 students had them cooling off with bottled water and water coolers set up in hallways.

Drinking fountains were shut down after some tests showed high lead levels. The bottled water will continue indefinitely in all Detroit schools.

A local radio station ran an online poll... this was good to see:

How will you vote on Proposal 18-1, basically to approve or deny the legal recreational use of marijuana?

  • Yes to Approve (95%)
  • No to Deny (5%)
  • I'm Still Not Sure at This Time (0%)

Looks like we can finally do this!! That is, if everyone who voted in the online poll shows up to their polling place....
