What are some good marinades?

I bought a bunch of tempeh and not sure what to do to flavour them.

Usually for marinades I make some combination of olive oil, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, dijon, tomato paste, molasses, BBQ spices, liquid smoke, soy sauce, maggi sauce, garlic powder.

I would like to try a ginger marinade.

My favorite is to first cover with water and microwave a minute, then drain and rinse--takes off that musty taste. Or simmer it.
I like to add about a teas liquid smoke, about a 1/2 teas poultry seasoning (or sage, thyme and rosemary), between a teas to a Tbls brown sugar (or maple) to enough water to just cover sliced tempeh. Let sit. I like to lightly brown the tempeh, then incrementaly add the marinade till it's all absorbed.
Favorites are reubens, or with cabbage and noodles

I don't eat a ton of tempe, but one of my favorite marinades for tofu and soy curls is this one from Budget Bytes:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 Tbsp grated fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp sesame seeds
1 Tbsp cornstarch

I'm sure it would work with tempeh as well.
