My friend ran a half marathon this weekend and I saw how much it almost killed people... I don't think long distance running is for me. I'd love to get into shorter running (like 5k) though
I ran a half marathon back in the 90s, before my blobby days...it was quite fun. I think a whole marathon would always have been too far for my body build.
Don't run a marathon without specifically training for it before.
I also only managed to run a half marathon some years ago, and I remember that the last couple of kilometers definitely felt very tough. Might try one again when I am back in Europe.
I didn't want to walk/stagger across the finish line, not with all the people lining the end of the race, so I walked before the end, and got some rest, so I could run the last bit......
I tried to do some physical work, later in the afternoon, but that made me feel really ****. I should have just rested the rest of the day...
