There is something similar to this at my local animal shelter. So very true... The only dog I have ever owned in my life was a dachshund we had when I was 4 that we had to re-home. I have always been a cat person, partly for the convenience of it, since I like to travel and dogs can't always come with. Still, I think once I am no longer renting and I own my own place, I would consider getting a dog. The big issue now is that I am away 10+ hours a day between work and commuting. The more I read about rescued pits, the more I think they're a good possibility for when the time comes.
