Whatcha Eatin?

Will have to try this. It's not something I'd normally consider putting together - I still have the dogma the oats mean porridge and lentils mean savoury dinner.

the funny thing is that you don't even notice the lentils as they turn the same colour and texture as the steel cut oats - I do like having the protein and other goodness from them - split red lentils really are amazing pulses as they can be used to make bread and so so many other things and they add a creaminess to soups or stews too - once you start watching lentil videos on youtube you will be shocked by all the uses people put them to

today will be a noodley soup day and I will rinse and throw in about a tablespoon or so of red lentils along with the million other things I add LOL

So you add the red lentils dry to the dry oatmeal?

Leftover vegan pizza from lunch with a friend. We ate at a chain called Square Peg Pizza, and they have a vegan cheese pizza available on lovely thin crust. It's close to the best vegan pizza I've ever had (Blackbird Pizzeria, RIP, had THE best vegan pizza IMHO). I didn't get a lot of toppings because it's a bit pricy if you have a few, so I just had onions and black olives. It reheated great in the oven.

no, I only use split red lentils when cooking steel cut oats in a pot - so water first, molasses, then the oatmeal and the split red lentils, then the raisins and the cranberries, once it is mostly cooked I then put in more water and add ground flax and ground chia seeds and then add more water if needed so it isn't cement-like

today I have rolled oats and that is where I add soy curl crumbs instead of lentils as I do it all in the microwave, berries/banana and then all the other goodies (today I put in a few kidney beans as my honey was having them in his soup so I stole some and added them to the mix)
