Music What are you listening to now?

Thank you. I do love music very much. It's one of my main hobbies. My age certainly reflects a bit of my musical choices, but I try to keep an open mind with new stuff.

I don't know any new artists! I only hear of them when my granddaughter plays her playlist in the car! LOL
It's odd... I still like to listen to classical pieces I've never heard before, ranging from composers I'm not familiar with at all to new compositions from composers I know relatively well. But I have to make a slight effort to listen to new pop or rock pieces or artists. I've "mapped out" the AM and FM stations in my area, listing what kind of music they play, and I generally like what I hear. But as far as contemporary music goes... Hootie and the Blowfish, Green Day, and Shania Twain are the most recent artists I'm at all familiar with. And I'm not even sure if they're still performing, although a web search would easily update me.

But as far as contemporary music goes...

I'm not one to seek out contemporary music. I listen to most of my music from an extensive library that I've been collecting for decades, but I also like YouTube for exploring music - just not contemporary. The YouTube algorithms bring up songs I haven't heard before, but it usually doesn't stray into stuff I never listen to, like pop, rap, etc. Now that doesn't mean I haven't heard Taylor Swift and that sort of stuff. Do I like that stuff?....absolutely not. To each their own though.

Oh, I also listen to Radio Paradise and Jango music streams. They're both free and also ad free. Both of these sites are good in their own way. These are nice when you just can't decide what to play.

I'm listening to the Bruins hockey game. Bruins are up 7-2, but the third period is coming up, and that is when they seem to cave. They are playing the Rangers today -- original six for the win. :D
