I've never used Spotify. I use YouTube for almost everything I don't have in my library, and I do have Prime but never use it. I probably have near 2 terabytes of music (mp3's and some FLAC) in my library (external drives).
I was a downloading maniac back in the Napster days, which then evolved eventually into BitTorrent. BitTorrent was great, as the quality is way better, and I could download complete collections. Was it legal, hell no, but everyone I knew was doing it. In Canada we've been very lucky with enforcement of such things. I'm content to just listen to what I don't have in my collection these days on YouTube or free streaming apps. I haven't downloaded a torrent in years now. It's just not necessary.

Me too! I have a large collection on an old iPod and it is probably on the old external drive that is sitting here idle on my desk. I also have a box of burned CD's but I don't have a player anymore.

there is nothing illegal about making a Spotify playlist.
those of us listening will have to pay for an account or listen to ads.

I just listened to Haydn's Symphony #3 in G major. Definitely easy to listen to; I thought he was credited to have written 104 of them, but apparently 3(?) more have been discovered. I've heard a few of the later ones, including #104, but I've started listening to all of them in numerical order- so I have almost 100 to go- but no rush. I forgot to make note of the orchestra and conductor, and can't find it in my browser history- ARGH.
