Anachronism
Is that not a thing? It totally seemed like a thing, but I wouldn't know since I'm an uncivilized barbarian.
I wondered if it was a Norwegian thing. Definitely not a thing I've heard of before

Oh, quorn does definitely need to be cooked in sauce (or fajita mix....it's good with that.) It's not that long since I stopped eating it really & once I fried it in oil like you did & thought it was disgusting too haha
I got some Ocado had an offer on all Quorn products, 6 for £10... but obviously I only wanted the one Vegan Quorn product... so we bought 6 bags.
Thankfully, it's pretty good. How I remember the original chunks, really. I cooked it into a risotto, as if it was chicken. I also made some popcorn "chicken" type pieces with it. We'll probably keep it in stock in our freezer from now on
I like the breaded fillets, the nuggets and the hot and spicy burgers. The fishless fingers were okay and I will probably have them again. I wasn't very keen on the plain fillets or the plain pieces.
It's handy how widely available they are too as most supermarkets stock Quorn.
