US Trump - favourite facepalm moments

I got a *facepalm* today, when our local NTV news said, that Trump offered Russia help in neutralization of consequences of that diesel fuel disaster in Norilsk. I wonder, doesn't he have some "homework" to do before he gives away resources like money and various specialists? Doesn't he want to take care of his country first? Thank god, Putin refused, having said that our resources are enough for neutralization of the whole diesel fuel pollution. ...Sometimes it feels like Trump cares only about himself and future elections.🤦‍♀️ It's obvious that he's trying to make a good impression on other countries' leaders, but he has forgot that the first people he needs to make a good impression on, are his citizens. :sigh:

In the US, there is a lot of talk about Trump being directly influenced by Putin, to the extent that Putin is basically dictating what's going on in our federal government to an extent.

I'm skeptical. I think some people gravitate towards conspiracy theories because they, themselves, seek attention. They want to look edgy.

But there is SOMETHING weird going on with him. He definitely acts as though he's not prioritizing the best interest of the US, or even his own re-election. He acts as if there is some other interest at play. Personally, I remain open-minded about what the explanation is.

Blin, i watched this plot (uploaded a month ago), and now i understand what you mean. My ears "got rolled into a tube" while i was listening to all this stuff. It's not that i hadn't heard this before,- just not in such quantity.
It's about Putin's influence on Trump (with Bolton as a protagonist😁).

The thing that seperates conspiracy theories from truth is the question: based on the facts what is the most reasonable explanation.
Over and over again (and if pressed I can list them) Trump has done stuff that is good for Putin. Combine that with the loans he got from Deucha (sp?) bank, and the reasonable explanation is that Putin is pulling Trumps strings.

So, I guess we don't want Republicans to become vegan?
.
That has what to do with what? :hmm:

I want a whole bunch of stuff from the repubs...vegan is a long way down the list. Like if you have no legs--you may want to climb a big mountain, but first you gotta find some way to get feet...and work up from there

If a Republican became a vegan for ethical reasons, I would be overjoyed. As a whole, those guys seem to be compassionless. Any evidence of compassion* on their parts would be very welcome.

or even just regular ethical behavior. or honor.

If only Democrats become vegan, that's not good for the animals. This particular thread will discourage a lot of people from coming to this forum for support.

In normal times, (not sure when that was - Pre Trump for sure but maybe even Pre Reagan or Pre Nixon.) I would agree with you. but if any republicans show up here I will welcome them with open arms.

Right now, it seems like there is a preponderance of the evidence that Repuclicans are without compassion. (except for some of the Evangelicals). They used to be able to use things like fiscal conservatism as an excuse. But they blew that up. Heck. America now has concentration camps. Not sure how you can accept animal rights when you don't accept human rights.

If you belong to an organization that allows water ways to be privatized, animals to be trapped and hunted in their homes, public land to be privatized, prisons privatized, take safeguards and reporting from slaughterhouses and cafos, take away clean air and water standards, and I won't even start on the racist, nationalistic and misogynistic policies of this currant administration--which is the republican party.

I'm not much of a fan of democrats either, but this thread is pretty specifically targeted towards one that has a long long long way to go to enter into any discussion of being vegan.

Not sure what you meant by that last sentence but for the rest. Well said.

😍 👏 🥳

Let me put it this way--if Biden is elected an follows the same policies of this admin I will in no way be offended by a Biden facepalm thread.

It's targeted to rump-- and there is just so much to wade through--separating families and caging kids, destroying public land, giving the ok to kill animals in pretty horrific means, stripping regulations in animal farming and slaughter, further desimating health care, killing the clean air and water act, privitiing.,...what I said...before we could get into a discussion on becoming vegan. you can't do all the above and more and give a dam about animals. I suppose some will say, well what about plant based--well that's all find and good, but not really all that helpful when meat and dairy farmers and hunter still get subsidized
