The Weather.

They are starting to hype up another potential snowstorm but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch.

"A major winter storm is on track to bring blizzard or blizzard-like conditions to the shoreline and parts of eastern Connecticut! Heavy snow falling at rates of 1 to 3” per hour combined with strong northeast winds gusting 50 to 60mph+ will lead to blowing and drifting snow, near-zero visibility, and dangerous travel at times. Those strong winds will also create significant snow drifts, so even if you “only” see around 10” of snowfall, drifting will still be notable and could lead to much higher amounts in localized areas.

Latest guidance shows the core of 1 to 2 feet of snow very close by, with some areas near or above the two-foot mark just offshore and to our south and east. With the storm still about 72 hours away, the small track shifts we’ve talked about all winter could bring those higher totals into Connecticut. This has the potential to become a historic storm if the track trends even a bit closer!"

Wasn't this initially a miss, lol? My mom in Charlestown is saying they are looking at more than a foot of snow Sunday/Monday. I don't like the blizzard stuff. Too windy.

Yes it was initially not supposed to be a big deal at all. I can't believe it changed this quickly and southern Connecticut weather is on board as well which surprised me. Usually they wait a little bit longer. Still, anything can happen. It could totally be a bust last minute.

I just saw that a little while ago. Yeah, it's still a couple of days away, so we'll see. I'm also worried about the wind if they are talking blizzard. That's not good for power outages either.

Different meteorologists' predictions...not that far off from each other. Looks like we're definitely getting something.
