Hello everybody! Hopefully this guide can answer any questions you might have about navigating the forum, and make it easier to navigate for new members. Just click on the "Toggle Spoiler" button to find the instructions for each heading.

If you have any questions that you think should be included, or want to know the answer to, please message me and I'll consider putting them in, as this thread is locked to keep it easy to navigate. (Similarly, for the time being, if you find any mistakes or if anything is unclear, you can message me and I'll consider changing it.)

Reporting a post
Reporting a post alerts the moderating team to a post which you suspect violates the rules of VV. For example, if you suspect a post is spam.

You can also report a post (including your own) if you have a request from the moderating team regarding it, for example if you would like the title to be changed to something clearer. The person who has reported a post will be kept anonymous.

To report a post, click “report” in the bottom right of a post.

To put something not not from veggie views in a quote, you can type in the code:
quote here
.
You can put the name of the source of the quote or the person you're quoting in "name" (or leave it blank) and put the quote where it says "quote here".
(You can also quote members of VV in this way, and type their user name in "name" if you find that easier.)

Quoting And Multi-quoting
To quote a single post, click the "Reply" button underneath the post:
quote1.jpg

To quote multiple posts, click the "+ Quote" button underneath each of the posts. Then click the "Insert Quotes" button underneath the post editor:
quote2.jpg

This brings up a pop-up where you can review the posts before you insert the quotes into your own post. Note that you can remove posts with the "Remove" buttons, and rearrange the order by dragging the posts around:

Finally, the quotes are inserted into the post editor as shown here:

Selective Quoting
To quote only part of a post, select the part you want with your mouse, then click the "+ Quote" or "Reply" buttons on the pop-up that appears next to the selected text. Choose "Reply" to quote only that part. The quote is then immediately inserted into the text editor.

For multi-quoting, choose the "+ Quote" button instead. Once you are done choosing text to quote, click the "Insert Quotes" button and follow the directions above for multi-quoting.
