TV & Film The TV Room

Seth Green guest starred on How I Met Your Mother last night. It was cool to see Willow and Oz back together again. And finally
Barney proposed to Robin.

I wasn't too crazy about
Deb shooting Maria, presumably killing her, and Hannah escaping from the medical unit of the jail
but I think there will be more developments on both in the next-and-last season.

I really, really, really like Arrow.

I have been watching Arrow at the recommendation of my 11 year old grandson. I like it! I have been watching Two and a Half Men simply because there wasn't anything else to watch; that kid is an idiot on and off the screen it seems. LOL
I really like Parenthood; has to be my favorite "family" show currently.
My favorite comedy is The Big Bang Theory. I tend to stick with "network" shows out of habit; I tend to forget the cable channels have series too now.

I'm really into Two and A Half Men now that Ashton Kutcher is on it. I think his character is hilarious. I don't care for Jon Cryer's character though or his gf. Jake is an idiot but I find a lot of the scenes with him hilarious as well. The actor though is a brain washed fool and I won't be suprised if his *** gets fired.

Also a big fan of BBT. I love Amy and Sheldon together.

I like the Ashton Kutcher character as well but I think Alan has gotten totally weird as time as gone by. I remember his gf from Melrose Place. :D
Big Bang makes me laugh out loud!!

I am looking forward to another season of White Collar. I think it starts up again sometime in January. I like the addition of Treat Williams as Neal's father.

I was gifted the first season of Homeland for Christmas. It's not something I really wanted or was really interested in . I saw the first two episodes when it originally started and I wasn't all that into it. I guess I'll attempt to watch them since everyone seems to go on and on about how amazing the show is.

Lucky! I haven't seen it at all but keep reading about how wonderful it is. Give it a try and see if you can get past those two first episodes. You never know; you might fall in love with it. If not, there's a nifty little website called eBay. :p

I remember when Bones premiered, I tuned into the pilot, but got bored halfway through and decided to skip it. Fast forward several seasons, and when FOX moved Fringe to a different night following Bones, I started tuning in a little early so I wouldn't miss the beginning of each Fringe episode. I found myself hooked on Bones that way. I eventually abandoned Fringe, but Bones is now one of my favorite TV shows. You never know how things are going work out. :p

Even though Fringe is ending its run this season, I may try to catch up on everything I missed in the past 2 or 3 seasons at some point.

Catching up on Breaking Bad, at the season 3 finale. Also excited for the return of Cougar Town :D

I don't get it. I tried watching a few episodes when it was on originally but I found all the characters to be really self centered and obnoxious. Not funny at all either. The show seems to have a cult following though and it's really cool that it's coming back even if it is on another network. I'm happy for all of you die hard fans of the show! More networks need to actually listen to their fans before they go ahead an axe a tv show.

True! That's happened to me with other shows as well (Big Bang Theory) so I'll probably give it a chance.

The first half of season 1 was just plain bad. It gets watchable about halfway through season 1, and really hits its stride in season 2 when they basically abandon the original premise of the show and start making a really good sitcom. It has subtle tie-ins with other shows I enjoy, too, such as Community and Scrubs - Ted from Scrubs is actually in it as Ted.

Oh interesting. I had noticed that fans of Community & Scrubs were some of the big fans of Cougar Town. Now it all makes sense why.

As somebody who's been watching TV since TV was in black and white, I gotta tell you, cancelling TV shows prematurely is a very old television practice. It of course is based on the bottom line: $$$$ A TV series that can't earn enough ratings points isn't popular with the sponsors, and sponsors means advertising dollars. Some of the most classic TV shows never earned high enough ratings for the network's satisfaction. The Twilight Zone is one of them. Cheers was almost cancelled after its first season; NBC threw it a lifeline, and got a dividend when it caught on with more viewers in its second season. Star Trek was another that almost didn't make it to its second season - and its third. It was kept on the air only because enough fans got together for a letter writing campaign (and this was back in the days of typewriters and snail mail) which saved the series. This is part of the lore of Star Trek.

My point being, of course, is if you fall in love with a TV series that doesn't seem to get much respect fron its network, learn how to pray. And maybe write a lot of of fan letters. :p

Classy TV!:im:

Heidi and Spencer are in Celebrity Big Brother so I have to watch that, also The Real Housewives of Miami finale.

ETA - I love American Horror Story and the random dance routine last night was fantastic!

OMG I can't stand "Spidey" (Spencer and Barbie wannabe Heidi). I guess their 15 mins of fame has run out over here so now they get to annoy you guys. Maybe they'll love it so much over there that they move there for good! :p

I wimped out on this season's American Horror Story , but I read that next season isn't going to be as dark and disturbing. That sounds way more appealing to me.

^ I haven't watched last night's episode yet but the one I saw had Spencer managing to **** people off already, he said the rest of the people going into the house looked like weirdos or something.:D
