TV & Film The TV Room

We got this for Yule, and we've recently managed to start watching it. It's pretty addictive, and by episode 7 we were completely hooked.

We also got Boardwalk Empire, but so far we've only watched one episode. Maybe once we're done with Homeland, we'll get back to it.

Boardwalk Empire is great overall, but season one isn't that hot. It improves dramatically in season two.

Hmm..sounds like I just need to sit my *** down and have a Homeland marathon viewing soon.

NBC has started to play Betty White's show "Off Their Rockers" on a regular basis now. Yes Betty White is awesome and hilarious, but I'm so over this show. It was somewhat amusing the first time I saw it, but definitely not something I'd watch on a weekly basis.

NBC will also debut a new show "About a Boy" which will star Minnie Driver as a vegan. http://www.ecorazzi.com/2013/02/18/minnie-driver-to-play-vegan-mom-in-nbcs-about-a-boy/
"Driver’s role is described as a recent divorcee living in a stage of “vegan throwback hippie-ness,”

I was wondering what happened to Grimm, my series link went off Skyplus mid series and I thought it had just finished :/
Cant even remember what happened last.

Been burning through House of Cards on Netflix this week. I'm up to episode 8, so far it's been pretty good, but not great.

The cinematography is amazing, although sometimes I think it overplays things a bit on that front. It probably also doesn't help that Peter is a much more interesting character than Frank. Spacey is quite good as Frank, but he really hams it up at times. For anyone who hasn't started watching it yet, it's probably worth a watch.

I'm watching new Supernatural and Anger Management.

I'm finding the second series of American Horror Story quite disturbing. :yuck:

Aww. I know what you mean as I did find it quite horrible too and had to cover my eyes at certain points. I think I am in the minority of people who preferred the second series as I found the storyline more cohesive than the first one.

I liked both, but the second one was a little scarier. Mostly because a lot of the things they showed had really happening during that time period, which wasn't all that long ago.

The third season is sounding good so far. Much lighter and somewhat humorous, with Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates opposite each other.

Watched Shameless (US one) on demand last night. I like that show; even the kids are amazing actors. :)

 It really is a good show. I haven't seen the second or third seasons though and have heard that they aren't all that great (storyline wise).

I've only seen one episode of Supernatural. It's on my list of "things to watch once I watch all the other things I have to watch."

Right now I'm catching up on Firefly.

:up:Great choices!

I'm one of those people that couldn't deal with the second season. I quit watching early in the season. I am looking forward to the third one though.

Watching Kitchen Nightmares. I hate how it gets so ugly but I love the happy endings.

My mother started watching American Horror Story and hasn't watched much since the first episode. Not that it's "too scary" or unsettling for her (this is the same lady who watched The Exorcist when she was like eight years old) but she just hasn't had the time. I keep getting near it on the Netflix queue and chickening out.

Happy endings for a little while anyways:

The first season or the second season?
I really liked the first season. Sure it had some disturbing over the top moments, but overall it was pretty damn good. The second season delved too much into torture porn territory for me.
