Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

Someone called the bike shop yesterday and asked us to save old inner tubes to use as elastic for masks. I bet these DIY masks are gonna be the hot fashion accessory this spring!

I'll just use the one I have for spray painting.

Most people in my area do not wear masks/gloves, thank goodness. Some employees do, which seems to be either on suggestion or mandatory by their employer. The only others that I have seen wearing such apparel are typically older women. I am thankful that the fear porn isn't being swallowed by everyone.

perhaps I should clarify...it’s rubbing alcohol for sanitizing. I refuse to go out to a liquor store although I think that would make me equally excited, hahahahaha.

I thought that was strange about you getting excited over alcohol. :D I thought that this Covid thing was driving you to the bottle.

I must say that I can hardly wait for 5 O' clock time each and every day.:p:D

A testimony from a real ICU NYC doctor using his real name and putting his reputation on the line by doing this:

Many journalists and doctors are comparing Covid to the Spanish flu. There is a lot of conflicting information concerning where the virus originated.
It's also a mystery why some of these deadly viruses flare up and become a pandemic.

Some scientists say that the Spanish flu may have killed 100 million people. In 1918 they didn't have the means to collect and analyse data as we do today.

The virus infected as much as 40 percent of the global population over the next 18 months.
Of these, an estimated 20 to 50 million perished

:rofl:True dat! Like wearing 5 gallon water jugs-

I saw a man come out of his house looking like he was wearing an empty yoghurt pot over his nose and mouth. I was still laughing when I got home.

Yeah, yeah, we believe you.;)

Some people in the UK have been sunbathing and going to parks in big groups and the Health Secretary said he will consider banning outdoor exercise if people do not follow the rules!

I just went for my daily walk. The weather is beautiful. I easily managed to avoid people as I stuck to the main roads as the pavements are wider. I walked around in a grid and I estimated that it should have taken me an hour but it only took 40 minutes. I think it must be because I am not stopping to let cars go down side streets and stopping to let people with pushchairs walk past me etc... as it is so less busy than usual.

I had an idea while I was at the Dollar General this morning where I finally got some toilet paper and paper towels. I bought a box of the cheap sandwich baggies and can use them on my hands for gloves! Way cheaper than actual gloves!
I got some of them too on one of my walmart deliveries last week!

New data for covid in RF (i almost lost track of contamination cases, except for cases in SPb and area):
Infected in total - 5389 (+658 in the last 24 hrs); 355 - fully recovered (+22 in the last 24 hrs); dead - 45 (+2 in the last 24 hrs).
I lost track of new cases in Moscow and Moscow area, but in total(!) - it's 3893 and 305 consequently. 29 deaths in Moscow city only.
I think i remember the last numbers in SPb and area. So, there are 20 new cases in SPb (191 in total) and 10 new cases in SPb area (57 in total) in the last 24 hrs. I don't like these dynamics.:pout:

On a lighter note:
Haha, i told you that russians are creative in any situation? - Some dude from Vsevolozhsk town (Spb suburb) filmed a dinosaur(!) in the yard, throwing his garbage into a bin. (Pay attention to the white car behind the dinosaur,- the driver stopped having seen this picture).
P.S. I think the choice of music is very creative either.

In case if someone can't see my link from Google Drive.
