I lucked out with this one. I saw cans of Joan of Arc spicy chili beans and remember I always used them for chili a long time ago. I'd been trying to replecate the taste of Zatarans red beans and rice and they seemed like a perfect match.
After I made brown rice, and opened the can, I see "natural flavors". I did make it, and promptly emailed the company.
I got a quick reply that the natural flavors were only a propriety blend of spices!
It was just the flavor I was looking for, and much less sodium than the box mix.
I asked in my first e-mail that they not use natural flavors, and label it vegetarian. I'm sending another to ask that they say something like "spice blend", or label it vegetarian. They would have to add milk, so vegetarian would be enough.
