New year resolutions?

I don't make new year's resolutions, but I do set a few goals for the year, so I guess you could sort of call that resolutions? One is to de-clutter/purge. I've made minor strides, but I need to kick it into gear this year. Also, I want to finish up a lot of my crochet projects that are in progress. I have many UFOs (unfinished objects) taking up space in my closet, lol.
I seriously need to do this! The only thing that keeps me from real hoarding is I don't acquire any more stuff, but have a terrible time with getting rid of old stuff. It's like I gate keep where things should go. I'm not giving to Goodwill, or others that sell, so often now priced high and sell, not to those in need, but those who just want to keep more of their money. I can give clothes and shoes directly to shelters, and need to make a run to Habitat for Humanity I guess
I do keep so many small things, like things in junk drawers. Once I purged a can of small hardware and have suffered the loss to this day

I hear you on having trouble parting with things. I, too, haven't acquired a lot of "new" things lately, but I certainly did my share of that over the years.

I have woken up feeling completely unmotivated today! :unamused: I went to bed early, but then woke up and couldn't get back to sleep for hours.

I am going to use my treadmill for at least 5 minutes a few times today. I should make a start on the decluttering too.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m not for a moment,
expecting this to occur,
for that is not possible,
a year must be all things.

Happiness must come and go,
like the tides and the winds,
just as sadness,
and all the emotions in between.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you,
a baseline of peace,
of gratitude.

Because if you can sit with these things,
for the most part,
happiness will thrive,
when it does arrive,
and sadness will know its place in the mix.

If you can nourish these things,
daily,
you will also grow hope,
for it flourishes in such soil.

And hope is the key,
to this enigmatic state
of ‘happiness’ we seek.

When I say ‘happy new year’,
I’m really wishing you more happy days,
than sad days,
more joy than misery,
more laughter than tears…
and the wisdom to accept,
that they all belong.

Happy new year, my friends.
Happy new year.

I want to do some volunteering this year. I was asking on another forum if people had any ideas as most of them are retired.

I have the problem that I can't be outside in bad weather as it sometimes triggers my fibromyalgia or else I would do something for a wildlife trust. I also don't drive so that limits me.
