New year resolutions?

The National Lottery over here raises £30 million per week to spend on good causes which I think is positive.
I was never fond of the so-called "good causes" they spent it on. I could think of far more needy causes myself!

I'd like to expand the rat playpen so it has a basement level. I added an upper level to it a few days ago.
I once had an idea about rodent cages, that it would be good to sell a kind of modular cage. You could start with a main living cage and perhaps one or two smaller areas with connecting pipes, then as you are able to spend more, buy other small modules that connect up indefinitely so that the rodent always has plenty to explore.

I was talking to my brother yesterday and he is still prediabetic even after losing 14 lbs. He and his girlfriend are doing Dry January again and I will join them. I would like to see my cholesterol to go back down and cutting out alcohol for a month should be a good start to the year. Not very fun, though!

There are a number of things on the market.
Probably the best is the multiple story idea where you just add rooms above and to the sides.
but I always like the tube concept,

I have a ton of games I could finish as well, haha.
Hearing one piece has like a thousand episodes was always so intimidating, and I have a short attention spans when it comes to shows, even if I enjoy it. Kinda always been a thing for me, even before I had a phone.

I think the comic book is that long. but the TV show isn't - at least not yet.
I stopped watching it around episode 3. I'm not sure it's still on my list.

I don't normally subscribe to resolutions, but after attending my twice a month Mindset group over the last several months, I'm trying to better myself for the remaining time I have left on this planet. 😁

A little backstory…Yesterday I did a curbside pickup at Stop n Shop. There are something like 8-10 spaces reserved for pickup. I've never been there when there were more than 3-4 cars waiting for groceries so parking is never an issue. Occasionally I will see someone park in one of the reserved spots and go into the store. Yesterday was one of those times.

I'm not sure why but I had a really negative reaction watching this woman walk into the store, thinking, why does she have to take up a reserved pick up spot when there were other available parking spaces? I did stop myself and took a breath to reflect. She had a young child with her, maybe 4-5 years old. Not sure if that impacted her decision at all. Then I thought, maybe she forgot her phone and had to go in to the store to tell them that she was here for her pick up. That actually happened to me one time.

She still had not come out by the time I got my groceries and left. But I decided, I need to stop worrying about what other people do with regard to following basic rules and just worry about myself. I'm not sure why it would bother me when I see someone doing something like this. So this is something I'm going to work on and try to adopt the saying, that we never know what someone else is going through and why they do the things they do.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎊🎆

Happy New Year, for later. Lol.

I want to join a gym in the new year and also to meet more new people and make friends. I am going to a meet-up at the weekend where there will be more than 50 people so I think the resolutions will work for me. We are going on a group walk too so that will be healthy for my body and mind.:)

we have a couple of bad habits we are going to work on changing next week - one of the main ones being spending too much time sitting instead of moving about... that one definitely has to change and eating even more whole foods and less junk

Happy New Year to all!

I definitely need to move more--getting good walk in at least once a day
Eat more, and more variety, of fruits and vegetables
Tempeh and dark greens at least weekly

Ramp up paying mortgage.

Try and socialize 🙄 :fp:

I don't make new year's resolutions, but I do set a few goals for the year, so I guess you could sort of call that resolutions? One is to de-clutter/purge. I've made minor strides, but I need to kick it into gear this year. Also, I want to finish up a lot of my crochet projects that are in progress. I have many UFOs (unfinished objects) taking up space in my closet, lol.

I am going to do that too. I used to be a strict minimalist at one point, but have bought a lot this year. I’m going to get up tomorrow and do a big declutter of my clothes.🙂
