R2-D2 Bubo is very displeased with you!

I know :( I lorbed him in the original movie. And he was reduced to some clunky trinket in a junk chest for this movie. Blah.

At least it was a nod to the original.

IMO the owl was annoying as hell in the original but I get all defensive about that movie. :p

ETA: Also the Kraken in the 1981 one was great because it looked nothing like the Kraken. In the newer one, it was actually somewhat believable, which somehow made it less believable.

The Woman in Black - I had my hand over my eyes for most of the film so it was scary.:D
Breaking Dawn - I was wondering how they would divide the last Twilight book into two movies because there didn't seem to be much of a storyline from what I remembered. I was ill with the flu when I read the book. It was definitely the weakest film in the series.:fp:

I admit it, I watched Mirror, Mirror last night. It was cute, and funny. I did not know Nathan Lane was in it, I love him.

I didn't expect to like that film, but for some good Sunday afternoon fluff it was actually quite enjoyable.

And I love love love Nathan Lane as well.

I've been kind of on a movie kick for a bit. I go in spurts of watching a bunch and then long periods where I don't see anything. Watched:
-Drive
-then watched The Vow after that, 'cause I needed something a little more "uplifting", because Drive was intense. I was surprised by Albert Brooks' role - he's always done more light-hearted funny stuff.
-Wrath of the Titans, since I had just seen Clash a few days before.
-Gamer with Gerard Butler. Cool concept, but it just seemed a little "off" to me somehow.
-Breaking Dawn part 1. *shrug*
-Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
-Predators, the new one with Adrien Brody. Then watched Immortals after that. I would probably watch Predators again, but will not see Immortals again.

I guess my movie kick lately has been geared toward action-y stuff, and not having to think much apart from the Sherlock movie.

Grr. I get irrationally enraged whenever anyone mentions any Sherlock movie/series other than the BBC one because that's the only one I can picture now.

I haven't seen the BBC one. I really want to.

Watching Angels in America this weekend... anyone who hasn't seen this really should. :)

Such an emotional film. Very powerful.

I'm so curious about it, but a bit hesitant to see it.

I also agree with you about Gamer.

Striptease Samurai Squad (NO, it's not porn. You can stream it on Crackle if you want.)
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II
I started watching White, then decided to watch something not Asian and started watching the remake of Not Of This Earth

I watched some of Girl, Interrupted the other night and I wasn't very impressed.

Watched Spies Like Us (1985) today... one of my favorites... Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd were such comedic geniuses in their prime. :p

There was a strong film in the series? :hide:

Watched John Carter last night. It was okay, but I won't be adding it to my collection. I might have liked it better if my pup had let me watch it uninterrupted, but she kept jumping on and off my lap and sitting on my chest. Due to this I didn't get that into the movie.
Tonight I plan to watch the new The Thing (prequel) movie again. I bought a used DVD of it the other day. I enjoyed the way they tied everything into the older John Carpenter remake, and it was a good movie in it's own part.
