Call Restricted = ?

I looked at my "missed calls" list on my cellphone. One of them said "call restricted" and did not give the number.

I happened to be in chat with Customer Support from TracFone and I asked her what that meant. She said that the call was not from a valid number. You mean, like a "spoofed" number? She said, no. Telemarketer.
 
Yea, telemarketers know that almost everyone has phones that display the caller name now, so they come up with all sorts of creative names to encourage people to pick up. Some sound downright nice like "customer care", while other are innocuous like "800 service".

We still have a land line, but the only calls we get on it are telemarketers and politicians, so we mostly ignore it.
 
I get a lot of spam calls that say Unknown and don't even show the number they're calling from, making it impossible to block the number. I also get spam calls that show the number but also shows just "United States" as the location.
