I had my bi-yearly thyroid check up yesterday and was telling my dr that despite my bloodwork saying otherwise, I still thought my thyroid was off. After some discussion we decided that I would supplement with Methylcobalamin b12 rather than cynocobalamin. She mentioned that I should stop the cynocobalamin b12 completely, as it could work against the Methylcobalamin. Since I’m assuming food that contains supplemental b12 uses the cynocobalamin, I’m planning on not buying anymore b12 fortified foods.
I wasn’t able to confirm her suggestion through google, but figure I’ll give it a shot for a few months and see how I feel, and what future bloodwork reveals. I know there’s been conversation on here before about thyroid issues and b12, so I just wanted to throw this theory out there in case it can help someone else.

hi Mbeth

The one reason that I have seen that people should not take the Cyno version of B12 is if one is a smoker.
