Whatcha Eatin?

Leftovers; small plates:

Cream of smoked mushroom soup with smoked paprika, yeast flakes plus a slice of toasted ciabatta/spread.
Creamy mash
An orange.

I had some leftover cannellini beans that I sautéed with onion and garlic and I added them to elbow pasta with nutritional yeast and panacheeza parmesan. It was amazing. I have to make that more often.

my fav - I love combining pasta with beans or should I say I love combining garlic and onion with beans and pasta lol

I am definitely having noodley soup today as I have some fresh kale, cabbage etc - I am going to go out later in the freezing cold to get a few more supplies to cover the massive snow that is coming on Sunday, so having a full tummy of hot soup will help to offset the cold, maybe.

I've only ever paired chickpeas with orzo. Never thought of beans and pasta beyond that.--oh, but minestone!
I started my snow party early... pickles, green and black olives, pickled beets, Lupini beans, and artichoke hearts.
And I made Gardein beef tips and asparagus.
I had lupini beans in a jar once and thought they were awful. I remember the jar was kinda narrow and had that girls face on it-I think Gia Russo
could you describe them?

@silva They're flattish, yellow and come soaked in salt water. The jar is fairly tall and then. They have a thick skin on them that you pierce with your teeth and then you squeeze the Lupini bean into your mouth and throw the skin away. Some people might eat the skin but I find it to be gross and waxy. I've always loved them. Usually they are too salty for me even though I love salt so I will empty the water they come in and refill it with plain tapwater and let them sit overnight.

I haven't heard of lupini beans.

I'm going to have a toasted bagel with tomatoes and mayo before I go out. I saw there is a new bagel shop opening near me. I haven't even tried the other bagel shop near me yet. I should do as they are probably much better than store bought. I will have to check they are vegan.

Lupini beans are popular in Med. countries; Portugal, Spain, Greece. I've seen them in the Portuguese aisle at Carrefour's. However, they are very expensive. This reminds me that I have to go their this pm to do some shopping. I really dislike going there as it's noisy, too big and there is flesh and mammal secretion food everywhere. There is also one part of the store that reeks of fish and seafood and sadly, you cannot dodge it.

Just back from Carrefour's and I checked the price of Lupini beans; between +2 € and + 3 € for a smallish jar.
