In June, the Adventist Health Study‑2 released 7.9‑year follow‑up results on cancer incidence by diet group. I revised the VeganHealth page on vegan diets and cancer with a stronger focus on vegans and added a section on whole‑food plant‑based diets to slow cancer progression. I will read more of the report later, I don't have cancer but am on a chemo drug because my Felty syndrome mimics blood cancer. Plus I am an x smoker and still enjoy a drink now and then, I shouldn't drink anything as I do have some mild liver damage. But it does boost my appetite which helps me keep the weight on.

I'm a vegan. Been vegan for something like 20 years. Five yearsago I was diagnosed with cancer. However my cancer was caused by having had HPV.

I think a lot of cancers are caused by environmental conditions that have little to do with diet. But there are plenty of types of cancer that can be caused or affected by diet. Colon cancer for instance.

Also 20+ vegetarian/vegan.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last October. Not sure how much diet plays a role in that other than antioxidants and fiber are stressed. Since I was 72 when diagnosed, maybe diet helped me avoid it until now. I don't know if I believe that 100%.

I don't like to put too much emphasis on the diet aspect because it makes me feel like it's almost victim blaming...I think there are people who try really hard to live a healthy lifestyle and bad things still happen. Plus some people have genetic factors (thankfully I was dna tested and do not).

The recommendation is basically to eat healthy...fruits and vegetables, plant based protein...and avoid excess sugar and processed foods.

I don't believe that most cancers are diet related. There are multiple causes including tobacco, alcohol and pollution. Aside from smoking and drinking heavily it's very difficult to avoid pollution and the sun. My doctor says it's also a case of bad luck.
