I've had such sweet cravings-this pudding certainly should cure them! It takes babysitting, but so worth it!
I used 1/3 cup for the 6 Tbls. Hate when they make things more difficult ----and a stainless steel pan, no need for non stick
I'd forgotten how good it is to freeze pudding for like 20 min! It's really good
I'm in a huge food rut

I've been wanting to try this recipe, even though I knew I hated sweet chickpea desserts
I've hated the dessert hummus, the chickpea blondies--and now I know I hate this too---

It's a good texture, but both my son and I can totally taste the coconut, and I can totally taste the chickpeas. My son was surprised it even had chickpeas!
If you've had desserts with chickpeas, and don't mind coconut, you'd probably like this recipe
I wonder if you could sub a different milk and add some fat to this?

Anyone make bread with beans? It's fabulous!
I made a pot of pinto beans today and tweaked this recipe
I posted my recipe and pic here:

I made vanilla cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes and chocolate buttercream frosting. They are for two events this weekend (birthday celebration for my nephew's SO on Saturday, and lunch with friends on Sunday). I won't be able to frost them until tomorrow, as I will be on the road a bit, so everything is going in a cooler.

It's been a long while but I made those easy seitan nuggets from TikTok again. They're not as good as I remember. 😞 Maybe because I air fried them instead of pan frying in oil.

I also made more Filipino barbecue soy curls.

@KLS52 I don't think I've had anything air-fried yet, but I'm thinking that air-fried food won't have the same mouthfeel as something actually fried.
Some things definitely have a texture change when air fried. Seitan is one...it becomes more airy/bready. I remember these nuggets as being more solid/dense when I made them the regular way.

I made a veganized version of a no-bake lemon pie that my mother used to make. It is really easy. A can of sweet condensed milk, I found a coconut milk one, the juice of two lemons mixed into it and a container of vegan Tru-whip. Put it in a graham cracker crust and I put it in the freezer because the non-dairy ingredients aren't as solid. It is almost exactly like my childhood pie!

I made a STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING!!!!!

Heard about it the first time on Facebook last week and thought it might be worth trying out.

.
As I do not have a square baking form, I made it round, which, I guess, is not very authentic, but does not negatively impact the taste or the overall experience.

It was delicious, complete with icecream and whipped cream (all vegan versions of course)

This is the recipe I used, if anybody is interested.

Sticky toffee pudding is one of my favourite winter desserts because it sticky and moist. The recipe that you followed seems to be Americanized as there are no spices in the traditional one. I like to add some vanilla paste to mine. Moreover, muscovado sugar is always used instead of ordinary brown sugar. It has a mellow undescriptable aroma to it.

There is a recipe in the given section and it quite easy to follow.

As a final verdict, it was very nice, very sweet, and everybody in my family loved it.

Not a lot of work, to be honest, and I will definitely make this again, after researching the original spices that should be used.

I am sitting here drooling.... brought up in a british origins family so loved this at Christmas time - definitely have to buy me some more dates and gives this a try. Thank you @Andy_T

Strangely enough it seems it may be originally a Canadian thing that was given to the British during World War II. hmmm

More pinto beans!
I made this recipe,
Pinto Bean Cake
with these changes:
Subbed egg for 1/2 cup applesauce
Used 1/2 cup oil for butter
1 Tblsp ground flax
Added 1/2 tsp baking powder to flour &
1 Tblsp vinegar to wet mix
Used half brown sugar

I couldn't help but feel it should have more leavener (SP?)

Okay, I just had a piece and it's really really good. Super moist, so I probably didn't need the extra oil. Probably would be great if you used a cup of dates for the oil and puree with the beans. Some molasses would also be good. It is a snack type cake, and I would use a rectangular pan next time.
I can definitely taste the beans, but in a good way. Not a recipe I'd reduce sweetener!
