I made three loaves of sourdough bread and all three came out quite good. Still room for improvement but I'm happy they are better than the three mediocre ones I made a month or so ago.

I forgot to tell you that I made cupcakes from Betty Crocker spice cake mix - used apple sauce instead of oil, and it calls for three eggs so I did two tablespoons of chia seeds that I ground in the mortar and pestle and one tablespoon of ground flax with the nine tablespoons of water - I also added in some pecans and some walnuts. Had two each the first night and one each last night - still have six.

have you considered putting it in ice cube trays and then into a container?
I bought the plants to do the same and have been too busy adding the fresh basil to dishes instead of making pesto... silly me.

My mom tried to do the ice cube tray thing last year, but she wasn't thrilled with it. I think it was just too soggy for her, though it was good for soups. We also have been using fresh for a variety of dishes. It's so delicious! Our plants were robust this year.
ah, maybe the difference is oil - I don't add oil to mine and so the cubes just melt quickly and then I add it to my pasta

sure wish we lived closer and didn't have a border in between - I have not crossed the border since 2015 and it will be a long time, if ever, again - I live close enough to it that I can see the mist above Niagara Falls on a clear day

Right? I would totally give you some! It's been a while since I crossed the border as well, probably around the same time. I feel like Americans wouldn't be welcome given the current state of affairs.
so here's why I rarely bake/make - yesterday I saw an "easy bread" video on youtube and had just enough flour to make it - as soon as it came out of the oven we ate over half of it, warm w/butter and some w/jam - so tasty and so unneeded as we already had lunch and hadn't yet had dinner grrrr
