I just finished "When the Moon Hatched" by Sarah A. Parker. This is book one in a romantasy series called The Moonfall Series. I am on the waiting list for book two. This is a 690 page book and I expect the next ones to be just as big. It was really good with the typical battle of good versus evil, lots of steamy sex, and dragons. The main character is a really messed up woman who is an assassin. The writing is really descriptive and I really liked it.

reading another couple of Jenny Colgan's - finished West End Girls and started Midnight in the Christmas Bookshop - the first takes place in London and the second again in Edinburgh

Do not disturb Frida mcfadden. I read it in a day. It was ok, not her best, but quick.
When I went to the library on Thursday I only had that Frida book to pick up so I walked around and I found Stephen King misery. I don't remember if I've seen the movie and I've never read the book. So that is my next read.

more Jenny Colgan and this is a 4 book series that takes place just off the Cornwall coast by Plymouth (England) - Little Beach Street Bakery - I am now onto book 2 - Summer at Little Beach Street Bakery

I just read the newest book in the Doc Ford series called "Tomlinson's Wake" by Randy Wayne White. I have read a few of these and they are good mysteries/crime dramas featuring some quirky Florida characters. I like reading books by Florida authors and have enjoyed this series. This one takes place in Honduras as our black ops/marine biologist hero fights evil human and animal traffickers.

Today I finished "Happy Wife" by Meredith Lavender and Kendall Shores. I picked this book up because it takes place in Winter Park, FL which is a very affluent suburb of Orlando. I have been there a few times. The story is about a young middle class woman who marries an older wealthy lawyer. She doesn't fit into the snobbish Winter Park society as the second wife but becomes friends with her next door neighbor who is another outsider. Then her husband, a workaholic, disappears and the mystery begins. The book captures the attitude of the very rich and is a really good fast read. This is the authors' first novel and they have a new one called "Perfect Life" which also takes place in Winter Park. As soon as I get through the stack I have and the second one of the romantasy series which is on hold for me, I will get that one.

I have read two David Rosenfelt novels over the last couple days. "Dog Eat Dog" which is one of the Andy Carpenter series and was another good twisty mystery. I really like Andy's sarcastic wit and this series is a lot of fun. The other one is from a different series called the K Team series and though it has the same characters, the main guy is one of Andy's investigators and his dog Simon Garfunkle. It is called "Good Dog, Bad Cop" and it was really good too. The main character is Corey Douglas and he is a more serious person than Andy so not quite as funny. I did enjoy it and will read that series too!

Today I finished "Stolen in Death" by J.D. Robb who we all know is really Nora Roberts. This is the newest book in the "In Death" series. I don't think I ever read one before so again I start at the end of a 62!! book series. Does Ms Roberts ever sleep? LOL She's written hundreds of books! This series is different from her usual formula. It's still murder mysteries and steamy sex but takes place in the near future, 2061. This book works as a stand alone though I know there were references to past events and the "future expressions/slang" were a bit confusing. It is pretty much standard "cops and robbers" with more advanced future tech. I liked it and will read some of the older books.

yes, you should go and start at the beginning - I have read everyone, over the years and I thank you for the heads up about this one, it is a several months Hold and I have also put it on hold as a 'real' book - I love all the main characters and especially the two lead - Nora is amazing, don't know how where does it

Today I read "Getting Naked" by Valerie Bertinelli. I have been watching her on The Drew Barrymore Show and they talked about the book so when I saw it at the library I got it. It is not a memoir in that it is composed of several of her personal journal entries over the last few years from 2019 until last summer. The title is a metaphor for her journey into discovering who she really is. She is also naked on the cover. LOL You can't see anything though. I really liked it. She has written several books which I didn't know. I always liked the shows she acted in. It was a quick read and interesting and moving.
