I read another older (2013) Nora Roberts book called "Whiskey Beach." I enjoyed it. Her typical good character development, family drama, romance, and murder with a pirate treasure thrown in.
I have two books to report today! This afternoon, since it rained and spoiled my plans, I read "Open and Shut" by David Rosenfelt. This is the first of the Andy Carpenter series and was really good. It was a bit dated as it was published in 2003 but that did not affect the great twisty story.
I also read "We are all guilty here" by Karin Slaughter. Though she is a new thriller writer to me, she has written many books and several are TV shows. The most well known is Will Trent which I haven't watched. She also has a couple of Netflix series. This was a really good mystery and family drama about kidnapped teen girls. I will read more of her books as I find them at the library.
I have just one David Rosenfelt left before I have to wait for more to be published. The last one I finished yesterday was so good - Dog Day Afternoon.
Over the weekend, I got "House of Fire and Magic" by Sherrilyn Kenyon out of the library. It appears to be the start of a new fantasy series with humans, dragons, unicorns, elves, and magic. Meh. I don't think I'll bother with any sequels- the characters weren't very appealing. I haven't read anything else by this author yet, but apparently she's written quite a few books.
