Here's something I came across the other day on Youtube from a guy named Chris Bryant. I reckon it's pretty cool and he may even be onto something big If he can get the momentum going I guess.
Briefly, he argues that Vegan 1.0 is largely about being a vegan and vegan advocacy is about converting people to veganism. He makes the point that while this is worthwhile, as a strategy for ending animal exploitation and cruelty it's not creating the change we need.
He thinks we need to move on from minimising the harm we cause to maximising the harm we prevent, by:
Giving more
Sharing more
Doing more
He calls this Vegan 2.0. He explains that here:
I don't want to debate whether this is right or wrong, but I do think as a way to reach more people it has merit. Everyday folk can be engaged to help do more to prevent harm to other animals and along the way, they become exposed to the whole concept of veganism and wanting to make a difference. He has been releasing a video each week that offers suggestions for how to do each of those actions, so it makes it easy for people to actually do something positive, even if they don't choose to be vegan.
Here's the playlist of videos to date which you can use to start making a difference:

If you like this idea, do share it on. I've been following along and I am surprised by the number of advocacy groups etc out there doing good work.
