Hello, my name is Valerian, a vegan, i was asked multiple times for a photography of Leslie Cross (as he did a key part regarding veganism, talking about the origin of veganism with vegans). So, I thought I'm going to research a bit — as we got portrait photos of Martin Luther King Jr. and other important figures of justice movements, yet we only got a profile picture of Leslie Cross. I saw Jon Cross was active here, (i hope he is well) maybe he or someone else could help. This would be wonderful.

With kind regards,
Valerian

It's been over 2 years since Jon has posted.

The only photo of Leslie Cross that I have found is a link to Veg fest. However, it would need to be photoshopped and made larger. He's sittong on the right hand side of the table.

Leslie Cross founded the Plant Milk Society which I believe was a group hoping to create a soy-based "plant milk". He also founded Plamil, a company to make various plant-based foods. Plamil still exists today and even has a photo of Leslie Cross in their history section, though I did find a better version of that photo. You might be interested to read about Plamil itself:

And here's a better photo of Leslie:

It's also worth reading about Arthur Ling who is said to have "gone vegan" in 1926, long before the Vegan Society began. He seems to have later been involved with Plamil and his son, Arthur, today is MD of the company:

There is an older thread about Leslie Cross which mentions is younger years at both the Vegan Society and Plamil. As a vegan Brit, Plamil is part of our vegan heritage and you can still buy their products today.

The op did mention the photo (the only one that comes up when you Google his name) that you've posted but she wanted one with his entire face. However, it's the only one that I have found online. There are far more photos of Donald Watson who was the original founder of the VS.

It can easily be photoshopped and made larger.
