"A Burnaby, B.C.-based supplements company is voluntarily recalling nutrition shakes and sports performance drinks after initially refusing to withdraw the products.


Last week, Health Canada requested that wholesalers, distributors and retailers voluntarily hold the products because Vega One nutritional shakes in two flavours were found to be contaminated with a prescription antibiotic."

I don't know what's more disturbing, the fact that they refused to withdraw the products the first time around or the fact that the products are contaminated with an antibiotic.

Ewww. I had a sample of their chocolate protein shake once and hated it. Lucky for me I guess.

I also bought several of their protein bars in Canada and didn't like them.

How does something like that happen? Why would a supplement factory have antibiotics laying around in order to contaminate this? Or am I being thick.
