It's just as bad as yesterday; 34°C which means most probably 35. I envy those that live in a cooler climate.

My friend Angie, in Brighton, says that it's nice and cool today and she's loving it.

There was a brief rain shower while I was at the Dollar Store and more rain is expected later. It is still going to be very hot, 90 now.

That will bring you some welcome relief from the heat. We're having them here, too. My umbrella helped a lot, but I should have worn my poncho. Fortunately, it wasn't as windy as they were predicting.

It's raining right now and I can hear thunder in the distance. Weird because I'm lying in bed and my head is up against the wall and I can feel the wall vibrate even though the thunder isn't very loud.

I hope it stops soon so I can get my morning walk in.

It’s even brutal at the beach. 90+ today. We have a small air conditioner, but it’s not really powerful enough to keep it very cool inside.

After all these years, and after becoming so familiar with the Centigrade scale after getting a natural science degree... I still momentarily think of Fahrenheit degrees when I see weather temperature reported. "...wha... that's just slightly above freezing!... oh... CEN-TI-GRADE... your know, Tom, where 0 is water freezing, 25 is room temperature, 100 is boiling water..."

Doesn't the entire world use metric/centigrade except for the US?

It's getting even hotter and we're expecting 35°C today and 37°C tomorrow. Siri says that's 98.6 F!

Yesterday there was a good booming thunderstorm while I was at work. Then it cleared up for the 4th of July festivities which are celebrated on the 3rd for some reason. Pretty much same forecast for today; very hot then possible storms. There will be more celebrating all day today. I have to work this afternoon and do not do anything for the 4th.

I found it odd that yesterday was determined to be the "observed" day especially since the fourth is on a weekend. It makes sense that people would get the Friday off from work, for those offices that choose to close. Maybe that's what they mean by observed.
