The Weather.

It's sunny and chilly this morning, quite a change from yesterday's crazy wind and rain. I have to move the limbs off my lawn. I think I will just put them to side of yard for now. I need a wood chipper or something to get rid of them.
Could I make a suggestion about the limbs and branches? If your yard is big enough perhaps you could create a little “wild”corner by just piling them up… One of the main reasons that there is less wildlife and insects in our towns is that most people are too “tidy”… Leaving just a small area of tall grass and branches becomes a Heaven for many creatures… If you plant a few perennial plants that are pollinator friendly it will be useful and Pretty!

Actually, that's what I ended up doing. :) I dragged them all to the side of my front yard and sort of piled them up after I heard we were getting snow tomorrow. So there they will stay. I just didn't want anyone to trip over them, like the postal carrier or even me, lol.

we will be having a green Christmas as the little bit of snow we had melted and the forecast is above freezing until Friday when we might get a few flakes

Ours will be green as well. The snow forecast for my area was a bust. We barely got a dusting, as I could still see the grass, lol. All good, though, as I'll be happy not to have bad weather to drive in on Christmas Day. :)

I did get a nice two mile walk in this morning while the snow was coming down. I loved it. But it quickly turned to rain afterwards so no white Christmas here.

Safe travels to you, @PTree15

Today is our last warm day of the week getting into the upper 70's. Tonight a winter front is coming and will drop temps into the 30's and 40's overnight! Tomorrow will only be around 60 for a high.

I went outside to check on the nests as it's very cold. It's 6°C and it's 3pm so at night when it'll be - 3 C the shelter won't be warm enough. It's far too open and it would need to have a plastic cover in front of the entrance. Perhaps some cardboard inside? However, I cannot add this as it will be demolished by the neighbours.

It makes me feel ill to know that the strays are cold during the night.:dizzy:

Cold here this morning, in the low 40's and will only get to upper 50's. Tonight even colder with temps in the 30's in the morning!

Possible weather warnings of snow and ice. It doesn't seem that way at the moment as the sun feels lovely and warm through the window. It is meant to hit -4 on Saturday.
